I read a comment by a vocal tutor who said that Nuno, incredibly, sings most of the chorus in just one breath.
Also I think that the ease of switching between the breathy verse and the full-voice chorus (overdubs or not - it was still the same session) speaks to the fact that he was in a great place in himself at the time. And we get to hear it. For free. And they say there is no God...
