Prove Me Wrong
O.C. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Loving you is hard
Baby when you're gone
I can't sleep, you is where I belong
Thought you were the one but girl
You're proving me wrong
Yeah you're proving me wrong
I just wanna care for you by myself
I can see it in your eyes
Girl You found someone else
I can feel the distance and it hurts like Hell
But maybe I'm the problem
The problem I can't solve It
I guess it's time to go
This feeling how I do I stop it
It's killing me I can't drop it hope you Found who you were looking for
Loving you is hard
Baby when you're gone
I can't sleep, you is where I belong
Thought you were the one but girl
You're proving me wrong
Yeah you're proving me wrong
Loving you is hard
Baby when you're gone
I can't sleep, you is where I belong
Thought you were the one but girl
You're proving me wrong
Yeah you're proving me wrong
Maybe I'm selfish
But the fact is that i can't help it
Looked into your eyes
And I folded
Push me away
When I feel the closest
My mind is feeling overwhelmed
I can't slow down
I guess that we're over now
You say there's nothing that I can do
But maybe I'm the problem
The problem I can't solve It
I guess it's time to go
This feeling how I do I stop it
It's killing me I can't drop it
Hope you found Who you were Looking for
Loving you is hard
Baby when you're gone
I can't sleep, you is where I belong
Thought you were the one but girl
You're proving me wrong
Yeah you're proving me wrong
Loving you is hard
Baby when you're gone
I can't sleep, you is where I belong
Thought you were the one but girl
You're proving me wrong
Yeah you're proving me wrong
And I'm Gone

And I'm Gone
You're Proving me wrong

Overall Meaning

The song "Prove Me Wrong" by O.C. explores the pain and confusion of loving someone who has moved on. The lyrics are full of conflicting emotions, with the singer acknowledging the distance between them and the possibility that he may be the problem. He feels overwhelmed and unable to slow down his racing mind, and ultimately resigns himself to the fact that the relationship is over. However, despite all of this, he still loves the person and cannot help but feel a sense of loss when they are no longer around.

The repeated phrase "loving you is hard" captures the central theme of the song - that love is complex and difficult, and sometimes it doesn't work out the way we want it to. The verses are full of raw emotion, as the singer struggles to come to terms with the situation and understand his own feelings. However, the chorus provides a sense of resolution, as he realizes that he needs to move on and accept that the person he loves is no longer his.

Overall, "Prove Me Wrong" is a powerful and emotional ode to the complexities of love and the pain of heartbreak.

Apollo Brown has a way of capturing the vibes of any song, and turning it into a masterpiece! all i do is nod my head back and forth til there's a solid crook in my neck. Not many producers can do that........Apollo can!

@robfalgiano

Yep. Plus OC’s stuff is deep. Spiritual. He reaches down to bring it up. I wish he had more of a social media presence (even though SM can be a drag). I’d listen to him talk about his views on pretty much anything. But I respect the privacy.

O.C. is extremely underrated. Him, Big L & Lord Finnese were always the best members of DITC.

@JAA87

Exactly... Although AG spit fire too

@sfknns

+Midnight Recovery Big L always gets more props than Finesse & OC or anyone else in DITC. So They're even more underrated than L. AG to.
