Release
O.R Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I'm sitting amongst yourselves
Don't think you can't see me
Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I haven't gone anywhere
But out of my body
Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

Don't argue amongst yourselves
Because of the loss of me
I haven't gone anywhere
But out of my body
Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me
Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me
Reach out and you'll touch me
Make effort to speak to me

Call out and you'll hear me
Be happy for me

Overall Meaning

The song "Release" by O.R. is a beautiful ballad about death and the afterlife. The song's first lines, "Don't argue amongst yourselves, because of the loss of me," suggest that the singer has passed away and their loved ones are quarreling due to their absence. However, the ensuing lines, "I'm sitting amongst yourselves, don't think you can't see me" and "I haven't gone anywhere but out of my body," suggest that the singer is still present in spirit form, despite their physical death. The remaining lyrics encourage the living to connect with the singer in whatever way they can - either through touch, effort to speak, or calling out - and to "be happy for me" in their afterlife.

The song's message is powerful and offers comfort to those who have lost loved ones, as it suggests that they are still present in some form even after death. The song's melody and gentle instrumentation add to its soothing qualities, with its slow pace and mellow guitar chords amplifying the emotional impact of the lyrics.

Sharing the wheel is very frustrating. It takes a really long time to spin and once a color gets more balls the chances of the other ones to catch up gets lower and lower as the wheel is always taken. For example, green didn't get to spin the wheel once before it died as red and blue got an early ball and dominated the wheel all the time.
