Carol of the Bells
O. D. Hall Lyrics

Ding, Dong, Ding, Dong
Ding, Dong, Ding, Dong

What Child is this
Who laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.

Ding dong ding dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling.
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From everywhere
Filling the air.

Oh how they pound,
Raising their sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.

On on they send,
On without end,
Their joyful tone
To every home.

So bring Him incense,
Gold and myrrh,
Come Peasant, King
To own Him
The King of Kings
Salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing
Oh haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Oh how they pound,
Raising their sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.
What Child is this?
Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,
To young and old,
Meek and the bold.

Oh how they pound,
Raising their sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale.

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry,
Merry, Merry, Merry
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Babe, the Babe, the Babe
The Son, the Son, the Son, the Son

Of Mary
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Overall Meaning

"Ding Dong Ding Dong" opens the popular Christmas song "Carol of the Bells," written by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914. The refrain is simple but memorable, with the song alternating between the bells' melody and a stirring description of the Christ child's birth. The lyrics pose the question "What Child Is This?" before inviting listeners to "haste, haste" and bring the baby "laud." The song highlights the joy surrounding Jesus' birth and the hope his life brings to the world.

The melody of "Carol of the Bells" has been adapted for use in many famous Christmas songs over the years, adding to its lasting popularity. The song also serves as a reminder of the importance of faith and the hope that Jesus' birth brought to humanity, a message that remains resonant today.

(If someone made an animation out of this that would be so cool)
I originally made this in 2021. I have now finalized Grandma’s revenge arc as of Dec 24, 2023. Merry Christmas.

2021:
When Grandma finally confronts the reindeer that ran her over long ago, this song shall play in the background during the standoff.

2023:
Grandmas has waited two years for the right opportunity to exact revenge on the reindeer that stuck her down long ago. It took years of finding the right equipment; however, Grandma has finally come prepared. She has obtained weapons capable of smiting a red fat man out of the atmosphere. She now sets out north in preparation for Christmas Day.

DECEMBER 23, 2023:
THE DAY BEFORE THE BATTLE HAS ARRIVED. Grandma has set up camp outside of the North Pole, right where the reindeer continues to thrive. The snow falls heavily as she scouts the area for the reindeer. There, Grandma stumbles upon a frozen lake where she sees IT. There was the reindeer, standing on the edge and moseying about as if it hadn’t committed vehicular manslaughter a decade prior. Although vengeful, Grandma only watched from her vantage point. She wanted to make sure that the epic battle commenced on Christmas Eve. This year, she would make sure that reindeer got run over by Grandma.

THE BATTLE (DECEMBER 24, 2023):
(Carol of the Bells plays ominously in the background)
Grandma stood across from the lake and eyed the reindeer. She placed an apple right near the edge, just where she wanted the reindeer to see her. The reindeer looked up from the ground and saw her. Although confused at first, the reindeer recognized Grandma. The incident came back into mind. Grandma pulled out her arsenal of reindeer-hunting weaponry.

The reindeer readied his charge; he knew that he would have to run over Grandma again if he were to get out. Grandma raised her axe and ran at the reindeer; the reindeer charged headfirst with his antlers. As the two started to collide, an ominous electric guitar in the background started to become even more evident. The two started to trade blows with each other. Grandma hadn’t expected the reindeer to have such perfect dodging. Meanwhile, the reindeer hadn’t expected an old woman to have such crazy ass ninja skills. However, those crazy ass ninja skills didn’t hold up for long. The reindeer managed to stun Grandma and run her over again. But, the reindeer did not realize that Grandma had taken her meds. Nor did he realize that Grandma wasn’t high off of eggnog this time. No, Grandma was battle hardened and focused this time.

Grandma fought through the pain and fired her Santa Smiter-3000. The weapon sent created a large explosion that shook the ice below her. The snow from the nearby mountains began to tumble. The reindeer began to lose ground as he was swept up by the massive avalanche. Grandma used her crazy ass ninja skills to just barely evade the incoming snow.

Grandma looked upon the disaster she had caused. It did not matter if the reindeer had perished in battle. Grandma had only wanted to humiliate the reindeer for the rest of his life. Nothing was more embarrassing than getting beaten up by a pissed off old lady. Grandma set off for home.

The reindeer emerged from the snow. Even though he survived, the memory of the Grandma was forever engraved into his memory. For every Christmas Eve, he would remember that reindeer got run over by a Grandma.

Dragon Ball Z Abridged's "Plan to Eradicate Christmas" brought me here.

Goku: You see Santa, Christmas isn't about the presents. It's not about the figgy pudding. Or the pretty lights, or the obnoxiously catchy music. And most of all, it's not about you!

Piccolo: (preparing the Special Beam Cannon) Goku's right! It's about the bonds that bring us together!
Trunks: (prepares Burning Attack) It's about friends!
Gohan: (prepares Masenko) And family!
Vegeta: (Prepares Final Flash) And killing Santa!
Goku: And that's the true meaning of Christmas!!

@mmwish9051

I'll never forget that night. The night when all seemed hopeless. When we thought we couldn't make the launch.

INITIATING LAUNCH SEQUENCE...

The launchpad was quickly hidden by smoke. The launch was first considered to be a failure. But the boss always found a way to make it work. He pressed the controls along the deck. He knew them like the back of his hand.

8...

By now, sparks were shooting up from the launchpad. Boss remained calm, however. He pressed one button. it was a dull grey, much sadder than the others.

5...

And... just in one swift move...

4...
3...

He pressed the fire button. The power of the fire button with the dull grey one lurched the craft forward with a banging noise.

2...

We were about to abort the launch. We thought we weren't going to make it.

1...

And, almost... as if he had been planning it all along...

LIFTOFF

The boss and his craft shot into the air just as the liftoff door had opened. We could all feel the intense cold. The reindeer pulling at the front, almost as if they were going to tear apart the sleigh, helped guide him out of sight. as the doors shut with a bang, we all got to our stations.

We had to help Santa get those gifts to the kids, no matter what got into his way.

I can gladly say that it was a successful flight. We actually got to more houses quicker than any other year, which was deemed to be impossible, due to his earlier record of about 876 visits a SECOND. He doubled that number that year.

The elevator back to the ground is in hallway H0 on the left. Now make like a tree and get out of here, we're working on the presents for this Christmas. Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise, would ya?

There is absolutely no reason a CHRISTMAS song needs to go THIS hard, but I'm all for it

Note to self: *Need a reason to write a song now"

@trackmaster152002

You realize that for most of Christmas's history it was an extravaganza for drunkeness, orgies, and feasts, and governments were always trying to ban it. Then in the mid 19th century it was hijacked and there was a concentrated effort to neuter it and make it family friendly.
