My father met Andre the giant in Melbourne when they came for a wrestling show. And my father had made an Andre the giant shirt with his friends and they sat on the front row. Andre noticed them and got out of the ring and grabbed my fathers head and kissed him on his forehead and said ‘thank you my friend.’ Every time we bring up Andre the giant in a conversation my dad cries. That’s the true meaning of special. Just like Vince. A grown man can cry just by the thought of that person. A moment my father will never forget. He’s 73 now

Vince saying "He was special" reminds me of a reporter asking Paul McCartney his thoughts on John Lennon being shot right after it happened and all he could say is "Drag, isn't it?" You could tell Vince was really fighting back sadness in this interview. While there are many things I would like to see Vince called out on, it is nice to see Vince's humanity.

I admire Vince so much. I can never begin to imagine what it’s like to be Vince McMahon at the age he is today. Over the past forty plus years of running that company he’s met and employed a bunch of superstars. To be in his mid 70s now and I’m sure it must pain him greatly to look back on all the guys who’ve passed away knowing darn well a good portion of lost there lives due in part to the life they lived to promote his company and the business. He’s only human and it must weigh on him when he sits and thinks about it like in this video

Oh wow watching Vince in this clip made me emotional, Vince is a great actor but you could tell this was genuine. Another side of me is saddened by the clip as I watch an older Vince who is still working hard but as he continues to do what he loves he's also holding what he loves back from progressing. No one would ever want to be the one to tell him to let go his grip on wrestling, and honestly while his heart is beating it would feel odd for Vince to not be the guy in charge, but the also means that things won't progress & their could be a tenancy to try and repeat past storylines etc, it's a sad and difficult situation all the way round. Every competition or trouble that was thrown Vince’s way he overcame. When Bret Hart was going on podcasts trashing Vince thinking it was gonna tear Vince down, little did he know he was making way to the evil boss character to feud stonecold which started the attitude era and killed WCW. I admit the product today is garbage. But I just hate it when people say nasty things about him. Wrestling itself would not be where it is today without Andre. He drew. He drew so much attention and fascination. He made Wrestlemania 3 such a big deal. I like when Vince shows these emotions towards certain wrestlers. You see that deep down, the man cares about the wrestlers. Perhaps the life on the road is demanding, rough, and Vince is demanding too, but he works his ass off as well and he cares about his troops.

Honestly, that's a pretty good boss IMO. I've experienced bosses who don't care about the employess, you're just an anonymous workforce, or they don't like spending too much time with them. But I also experienced a boss similar to Vince, this kind of alpha male, older guy who was tough, demanding, but you felt some heart from him, he talked to you and treated you like a human being. He cared. Those are the best bosses.

I just got finished watching his biography, and sadly it seems that the downfall of him... was being what made him famous. A giant!
He was in pain and he drank a lot. I can relate to drinking to ease my worries.
But I think Andre the Giant drank alcohol the way he did, because he was dealing with physical, mental, and emotional pain.

Vince was physically abused by his step dad
At that time was skinny and small
He left for the marine corps
When his biological father found out, he saved his ex and kids
Since then, Vince hated bullies and wanted to be big and strong
Vince surrounded himself with big guys, which is why he mostly headlined big wrestlers
Andre was the big brother Vince never had and he watchout for Vince when he entered the business because these guys had large egos
Andre helped Vince overcome his trauma and in return Vince shared Andre's loving heart to the world

What’s so tragically beautiful about this is I get the feeling he DOES remember the last time he spoke to Andre. It seems like he’s recollecting the moment in his pause…but he decided to keep that memory personal.

When I was 3 (1997), I would see pictures of him on TV, I would so afraid of Andre lol but I’m so grateful that my parents name me after a legend. He was special 🥺🥺🥺.

Vince, much like all of us, realizes that Andre is the Atlas on which WWE was built. Many came before and many after but that match against Hogan was Andre’s way of giving himself to WWE and creating an empire.

I think what tears him up, is the fact that Stephanie and André became Friends. A few weeks ago there was a Series in Germany TV, called WWE Legends and André was the first to be Shown. The People who talked about him were Big Show, Mark Henry, Vince and Stephanie. Main goal of the Series was to collect Items that belonged to Andre (his boots, a Jacket, his Passport). In Some moments it was very touching: Mark Henry put on the Jacket and he teared very up because André was an Inspiration to him. Despite his mangled Body due to the Acromegaly, he tried his best to entertain People. When everything was too much (people always recognized him, travelling for Weeks) he Moved to his ranch and enjoyed the Quiet Place.
In the middle, Stephanie talked about him, that she sat on his legs when she was 9 or so, and when she was 13/14 they went to a Restaurant. It was her real First date if you will and they laughed and ate the whole evening, but André Never wanted an advantage. He cared about her like a father. Especially Mark henry said that he feels like he knew André despite he never met him.

As a kid I remember seeing Vince as the villian. Funny how we all thought a lot of this was real. The beef he had with wrestlers and all of that.

I was sadly only 3 years old when Andre died I never had a chance to see Andre either in life or on tv but as a fan I’ll always have a love and respect for him

As a Frenchman, you wouldn’t believe how popular Andre was in France, everybody knew his name, aight.

I waited in line for 3 hour dawg, hoping to axe him a question, I didn’t get da chance, but I did get to see a glimpse of him, and brotha he was huge, TV didn’t give him justice as to how big he was.

My mom worked for Vince dad and had the pleasure to know Andre. Many people didn’t know that was soft hearted man. Many times I use to feel like no one loved this when I about 6 to 8 yrs old he would tell me all the time I love you and proud to be your friend, I would say love being your friend.

That moment reminds me of the ending of The Hobbit: Battle Of The 5 Armies when Bilbo arrived home and his neighbors asked him about Thorin, Bilbo answered with "He was my friend." A friendship that would last forever and no matter how long he remained on this earth.

Because it's a rare peek into Vince's humanity. For all the Toughness he's shown it's nice to see a human softer side of him. Andre meant the WORLD to Vince and it eats him up every day he didn't get a chance to make amends
