The song "Okay" by OKAY begins with the lyrics "Also das Allerschönste, was Füße tun können ist: tanzen" which loosely translates in English to "The most beautiful thing that feet can do is dance". This line is repeated throughout the song, highlighting the simplicity and beauty of dance. The following lines are a mish-mash of various spoken words and sentences that seem to be picked at random, creating a collage of phrases that are both vapid and profound.
The inclusion of words and phrases like "The President of the United States," "The world after a nuclear war," and "The Bundestag," give an air of seriousness to the song, mimicking the style of news reports and political speeches. However, the random phrases, such as "Tell me, tell me! Can't say," and "I am the greatest, I'm the world," add a layer of absurdity and seem to poke fun at the seriousness of the other lines. The song as a whole appears to be a commentary on the power of music (and specifically dancing) to bring people together, even in times of chaos and confusion.
