The flute starting at 0.55 is called a "fluier" and it's a traditional Romanian instrument associated with shepherds. I believe it's called "pipe" in english, even though i'm not sure. Check out "fluier" on the romanian wikipedia, there's also a picture there. On a (somewhat) related note, "fluier" used as a verb means to whistle :)
