This skit is very on point, especially how American media cover things.
In the American media if America scored well in something, it would be a bragging right.
But in America media when Japan scores high in IQ and other intelligence measures, it has to be covered as if it's somehow a negative thing.

@Jonah Mann I don't think it would have helped. I just graduated high school and got into a pretty high ranking liberal arts college, which is better than the colleges that most honors students in my school were accepted to. I didn't get very good grades or participate in any special programs, but I got high test scores and wrote a good essay which was enough to get me accepted. Defining success by points and grades is not a good way to create an impact in the world, if you're clever you can bypass most systems and institutions. You don't have to compete in sheer diligence and willpower against every other person to succeed. That may work for some people, but if you're intelligent, creative, or resourceful, you can find your own way so successes.

@Notagenius Grades are not a good indicator of intellect. And I could read at that age. I don't remember much from that time because I was like 7 or 8, but I think they gave us standardized tests that were comprised of information that was not in the school curriculum. They basically made us answer questions about topics we had not studied yet, and solve problems that we had never been taught to solve before. It was essentially a test to figure out which kids could solve complex problems intuitively. It was back in 2009, I have no idea if they still use those methods, or if the programs still exist.
