Anitelli had had another band, Madalena 19, and, intending to gather money to record an album, he went to the U.S. to work as a waiter. There he got to know Hermann Hesse's novel Steppenwolf. In the book, the protagonist runs into a man who is advertising the "Magic Theatre", and that's where Anitelli got the name of the album he was working on from.
Back in Brazil he structured the twelve-person project as a mix of music, circus, poetry, and theatre. The group is composed of:
Fernando Anitelli (acoustic guitar, vocal)
Willians Marques (percussion)
Emerson Marciano (bass)
Nenê Santos (drums)
Luis Galdino (violin)
DJ HP (sample, effect and bases)
Rober Tosta (theater, trapeze, stilts)
Daniela Homsi (flute, dance, juggling, fire performances)
Gabi Veiga (fabrics, ground acrobatic, doll)
Ligia Moreno (fabrics, acrobatic, doll)
Toicinho (clown, juggling)
With the project ready, the twelve of them, dressed as clowns, began to tour; word-of-mouth advertising generated positive reviews and responses, and their concerts started growing despite the lack of label or media support. They are responsible for everything about the project - from the make-up and models to promotion, webdesign, and even scheduling their own presentations. With no help except from their fans, the independent project has sold about 80,000 copiesof its first CD, Entrada para Raros.

O anjo mais velho
O Teatro Mágico Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Enquanto houver você do outro lado
Aqui do outro eu consigo me orientar
tua verdade fazendo escola
do outro a luta, a força e a coragem pra chegar no fim
The lyrics of O Teatro Mágico's "O anjo mais velho" paint a picture of the complexity of life, illusion, truth, and perception. The first stanza suggests that the day deceives by lying about the color of the night, and diamonds lie about the true color of one's eyes. Furthermore, human eyes lie about the pain one is going through, whether it is day or night. There is a lot of confusion and illusion that exists in the world, and it becomes difficult to understand what is real and what is not.
The second verse talks about how one can navigate through all these illusions with the presence of someone they trust. This person could be anyone, a friend, a family member, or a lover, who can help one orient themselves in times of confusion. The chorus "Só enquanto eu respirar vou me lembrar de você" translates to "Only while I breathe will I remember you," represents the longing and memory that one carries with them until they die.
The final verse suggests that life is a balance between the poetic and intense emotions and the struggle for survival. The end of life is unknown, and it depends on the person's perspective on the world around them. The song is about the complexity of emotions, illusions in life, and our ability to navigate through it with the help of someone we trust.

Em 2023, eu me formo.
