Anitelli had had another band, Madalena 19, and, intending to gather money to record an album, he went to the U.S. to work as a waiter. There he got to know Hermann Hesse's novel Steppenwolf. In the book, the protagonist runs into a man who is advertising the "Magic Theatre", and that's where Anitelli got the name of the album he was working on from.
Back in Brazil he structured the twelve-person project as a mix of music, circus, poetry, and theatre. The group is composed of:
Fernando Anitelli (acoustic guitar, vocal)
Willians Marques (percussion)
Emerson Marciano (bass)
Nenê Santos (drums)
Luis Galdino (violin)
DJ HP (sample, effect and bases)
Rober Tosta (theater, trapeze, stilts)
Daniela Homsi (flute, dance, juggling, fire performances)
Gabi Veiga (fabrics, ground acrobatic, doll)
Ligia Moreno (fabrics, acrobatic, doll)
Toicinho (clown, juggling)
With the project ready, the twelve of them, dressed as clowns, began to tour; word-of-mouth advertising generated positive reviews and responses, and their concerts started growing despite the lack of label or media support. They are responsible for everything about the project - from the make-up and models to promotion, webdesign, and even scheduling their own presentations. With no help except from their fans, the independent project has sold about 80,000 copiesof its first CD, Entrada para Raros.

O Teatro Mágico Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Como arroz e feijão a perfeita combinação soma de duas metades
Como feijão e arroz que só se encontram depois de abandonar a embalagem
Mas como entender que os dois
Por serem feijão e arroz
Se encontram só de passagem
Pra nela eu me perder
Me sirvo a vontade
que vontade de te ver
O dia do prato chegou é quando eu encontro você
Nem me lembro o que foi diferente!
Mas assim como veio acabou e quando eu penso em você
Choro café e você chora leite
Choro café e você chora leite
The lyrics of Pratododia by O Teatro Mágico describe the perfect combination of two elements - rice and beans - and how they symbolize happiness. Like the dish, happiness is achieved little by little, grain by grain. The song goes on to talk about how rice and beans only come together after leaving their packaging, and how it's difficult to understand why two different things - rice and beans - can come together to make something new.
The chorus describes the excitement of anticipation, where the singer yearns to be with the one they love, comparing it to serving oneself the rice and beans they desire. The day of the plate arrives and the singer sees the person they love, but can't remember what made it different from other days. Just like that, the moment is gone, leaving both the singer and the person they love in tears.
What this song seems to be talking about is the importance of taking things slowly, piece by piece, just like in a granular dish such as rice and beans. It also delves into relationships and the way that love can bring two different things together, just like rice and beans, in a bittersweet and fleeting moment.
