Woman
Oasis/beatles Lyrics

My love don't give me presents
I know that she's no peasant
Only ever has to give me
Love forever and forever
My love don't give me presents

Turn me on when I get lonely
People tell me that she's only fooling
I know she isn't

She don't give boys the eye
She hates to see me cry
She is happy just to hear me
Say that I will never leave her
She don't give boys the eye

She will never make me jealous
Gives me all her time as well as loving
Don't ask me why

She's a woman who understands
She's a woman who loves her man

My love don't give me presents
I know that she's no peasant
Only ever has to give me
Love forever and forever
My love don't give me presents

Turn me on when I get lonely
People tell me that she's only fooling
I know she isn't, woo ooh

She's a woman who understands
She's a woman who loves her man

Her love don't give me presents
I know that she's no peasant
Only ever has to give me
Love forever and forever
My love don't give me presents

Turn me on when I get lonely
People tell me that she's only fooling
I know she isn't

She's a woman, she's a woman
She's a woman, she's a woman, she's a woman

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Oasis' song "She's a Woman" could be interpreted as a declaration of love and appreciation for the singer's significant other who doesn't feel the need to give him material gifts. The lines "My love don't give me presents, I know that she's no peasant, Only ever has to give me love forever and forever" suggest that the singer values his partner's love and company above everything else. He acknowledges that she's not wealthy or of a high social status, but he doesn't need her to be. The repetition of "She's a woman who understands, She's a woman who loves her man" emphasizes the fact that the singer feels understood and loved by his partner.

The second verse describes the singer's lover as someone who is completely devoted to him and doesn't entertain the attention of other men. He says, "She don't give boys the eye, She hates to see me cry, She is happy just to hear me say that I will never leave her." This suggests that the singer might have insecurity issues that his partner is helping him overcome with her undivided attention and affection. The line "She will never make me jealous, Gives me all her time as well as loving, Don't ask me why" confirms that the singer feels secure and happy in his relationship.

In conclusion, the lyrics to "She's a Woman" radiate a feeling of genuine love and gratitude for the singer's partner who makes him happy and fulfilled just by being there for him. The song highlights the importance of emotional support and understanding in a healthy relationship.

Just two:

"Going Underground" - Power beyond description! - The very zeitgeist of modern (for then) British Rock. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE1ct5yEuVY

"My Ever Changing Moods" - For me the apex of what British music became & sadly once was - The fusion of all that was before wrapped by a guy who even McCartney once said is one of our greatest song writers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtnlzRUXzbw

Bit of a bonus as I don't know if you know his solo work but my personal fav of everything Noel Gallagher has written - "Everybody's on the Run" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CozRUofCGSM

@taliwakka27 lmao I was defending George. Also Johnny marr from the smiths literally made oasis famous when he found them at a nightclub and he said he did it because of noels writing not liams voice. In fact when Noel played the royal Albert hall Johnny was by his side

A fan actually asked Liam a while ago on Twitter if he still thinks the same word about George, he replied with "God no he's my hero I was just letting him have it". I think it's best to just move on.

To be honest, being a fan of both bands, I never understood why everyone says Oasis sound so similar to The Beatles, ok, a couple of bits in a couple of songs are lifted, but Oasis were 90s Britpop, and cranked up distorted guitars. The Beatles were 60s rock and rollers, and slowly transitioned into the whole hippie phenomenon.

The term britpop is cringe and made up by journalists
