Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year they recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer Alan White, in the midst of a chart rivalry with peers Blur. Spending ten weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was also an international chart success and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. In addition, it stands as the fifth-best-selling album in the UK and the biggest-selling album in the UK of the 1990s. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1996, Oasis performed two nights at Knebworth for an audience of 125,000 each time, the largest outdoor concerts in UK history at the time. In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now. It became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
Oasis' popularity later declined and McGuigan and Arthurs left in 1999 as Oasis released Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000). They were replaced by former Heavy Stereo guitarist Gem Archer and former Ride guitarist Andy Bell. White departed in 2004, replaced by Zak Starkey and later Chris Sharrock. Oasis released three more studio albums, Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don't Believe the Truth (2005) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008). The group abruptly disbanded after the departure of Noel Gallagher in August 2009.
As of 2009, Oasis had sold over 70 million records worldwide. They are among the most successful acts on the UK Singles Chart and Albums Chart, with eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums. The band also achieved three platinum albums in the US. They won 17 NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and one for the "Best Album of the Last 30 Years" for (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Cum On Feel The Noize

Well I'll tell you honey
And I don't know why
I don't know why
So you think my singin's' out of time
Well it makes me money
And I don't know why
I don't know why
So cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Til dawn
So you think you I got a funny face
Well I'm not worried
And I don't know why
I don't know why
Along about last week I stopped this race
I'm in no hurry
And I don't know why
I don't know why
Anymore, no no
So cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Wild, wild, wild
Cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Til dawn
Well you think we have a lazy time
You should know better
I don't know why
I don't know why
And you say I got a dirty mind
Well I'm a mean go-getter
I don't know why
I don't know why
Anymore, oh no
So cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Wild, wild, wild
So cum on feel the noize
Girls rock your boys
We'll get wild, wild, wild
Til dawn
The lyrics of Oasis's song Cum On Feel The Noize express a message of defiance against those who criticize and judge the singer's appearance, music, and personality. The first stanza combats the notion that the singer is evil-minded and out of time, asserting that their music is profitable and has value. The chorus invites the listeners to join in and rock out, ignoring the naysayers and letting loose until dawn. The second stanza addresses the criticism of the singer's funny face and their lack of urgency, claiming that there is no reason to rush or worry. Finally, the third stanza rejects the accusation of laziness and responds fiercely to the allegation of a dirty mind, asserting that the singer is a go-getter.
Overall, the song encourages a sense of rebellion against critics and pressure to conform. It celebrates music as a source of joy and freedom, regardless of whether it is trendy or fits aesthetic standards. The use of "cum" instead of "come" is intentional, as it is a reference to the original song by Slade, which also contains the intentionally misspelled word. The song's energy and boldness have helped it become a beloved anthem for many rock fans.

So you think you got an evil mind
You believe that you have a wicked thought process
Well I'll tell you honey
However, I must inform you
And I don't know why
Although I do not understand why
I don't know why
But for some reason
So you think my singin's' out of time
You are of the opinion that my singing is not in sync with the beat
Well it makes me money
Despite that, it brings me profit
Anymore, oh no
Not anymore, certainly not
Cum on feel the noize
Come on, experience the loudness
Girls rock your boys
Women stir up your men
We'll get wild, wild, wild
We will become extremely boisterous
Til dawn
Until the sun rises
So you think you I got a funny face
You find my face to be amusing
Well I'm not worried
However, I am not concerned
Along about last week I stopped this race
Sometime last week, I ceased this struggle
I'm in no hurry
I am not pressed for time
Anymore, no no
Not anymore, absolutely not
Well you think we have a lazy time
You believe we have a leisurely life
You should know better
But in reality, you should possess greater insight
And you say I got a dirty mind
Additionally, you accuse me of having impure thoughts
Well I'm a mean go-getter
However, I am a tenacious pursuer of my goals
So cum on feel the noize
Therefore, come and experience the loudness
We'll get wild, wild, wild
We will become extremely boisterous
Til dawn
Until the sun rises
