Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994). The following year they recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with drummer Alan White, in the midst of a chart rivalry with peers Blur. Spending ten weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was also an international chart success and became one of the best-selling albums of all time. In addition, it stands as the fifth-best-selling album in the UK and the biggest-selling album in the UK of the 1990s. The Gallagher brothers featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their disputes and wild lifestyles. In 1996, Oasis performed two nights at Knebworth for an audience of 125,000 each time, the largest outdoor concerts in UK history at the time. In 1997, Oasis released their third album, Be Here Now. It became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
Oasis' popularity later declined and McGuigan and Arthurs left in 1999 as Oasis released Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000). They were replaced by former Heavy Stereo guitarist Gem Archer and former Ride guitarist Andy Bell. White departed in 2004, replaced by Zak Starkey and later Chris Sharrock. Oasis released three more studio albums, Heathen Chemistry (2002), Don't Believe the Truth (2005) and Dig Out Your Soul (2008). The group abruptly disbanded after the departure of Noel Gallagher in August 2009.
As of 2009, Oasis had sold over 70 million records worldwide. They are among the most successful acts on the UK Singles Chart and Albums Chart, with eight UK number-one singles and eight UK number-one albums. The band also achieved three platinum albums in the US. They won 17 NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit Awards, including one in 2007 for Outstanding Contribution to Music and one for the "Best Album of the Last 30 Years" for (What's the Story) Morning Glory?. They were nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Solve My Mystery
Oasis Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They put it in a headlock and
They sealed my fate
Somewhere inside the world
In which they live
Because I failed
They constantly ignore me and
They told me I lost my mind but
I'm singing out my revolution song
Like nothing else matters
And you can pitch your gold against my soul
But I bet you get shattered
And there's a million houses in my heart
It won't be long
It won't be long
Till I solve my mystery
It would for me
What do I believe in and
A masterkey
Is somewhere inside of the world in which I live
And what for they
They will speak for no-one
And I may have lost my mind
But I believe that I rule my world
I'm singing out my revolution song
Like nothing else matters
You can pitch your gold against my soul
But I bet you get shattered
And there's a million houses in my heart
It won't be long
It won't be long
Till I solve my mystery
And I'm singing out my revolution song
Like nothing else matters
And you can pitch your gold against my soul
But you gotta get shattered
And there's a million houses in my heart
And it won't be long
It won't be long
Till I solve my mystery
Till I solve my mystery
The lyrics of Oasis's song "Solve My Mystery" are introspective and probing, reflecting the frustration and alienation of the singer. The first verse declares that the singer's faith has been taken away and sealed, making it impossible for them to find hope or meaning. They believe that the outside world has judged them poorly, even though they haven't been given a fair chance to prove themselves. Despite the isolation they feel, the singer remains confident, believing that they rule their own world.
The second verse finds the singer grappling with questions of purpose and identity. They wonder what they truly believe in and whether there is a "masterkey" to unlock their understanding of the world. The outside world is still hostile and distant from them, but the singer insists on their own agency and authority. The chorus emphasizes this resolve, asserting that the singer is singing their "revolution song" and that nothing else matters. They refuse to be swayed by external pressure or temptation, claiming that even gold cannot compete with their soul. Ultimately, the singer is determined to keep searching until they solve the mystery of themselves and the world around them.

@Lazar What's the Story arguably has Liam's best singing before it started to go to pot, but the songs are mostly garbage nonsensical piles of cock mixed with liquid poop.

@Vincecouk Strongly disagree. Definitely Maybe and WTSMG are both great, Be Here Now is pretty good, Heathen Chemistry is fantastic, and I also agree with their latest few. :)
