Aquelles nits d'estiu quan no teniem res
Unes motxilles buides I uns bitllets de tren.
Les festes d'un poble on vam arribar,
Un sopar a la fresca amb un got a la m
Si Tanque Els Ulls is a Catalan song by the band Obrint Pas that talks about reminiscing on memories from a simpler time. The song starts off with the lyrics, “Si tanque els ulls recorde tot el que vam fer”, which translates to “If I close my eyes, I remember everything we did”. The following lines describe the memories of summer nights when they had nothing but empty backpacks and train tickets. The memories that the singer cherishes are associated with a particular town's festivals where they arrived and had dinner outside with glasses on the table.
The song's overall message is about the importance of remembering the good times, even if they are in the past. The lyrics talk about how those memories are always with us, and when we reflect on them, it can bring us joy and peace. The song is sung in Catalan, which is a beautiful language that adds more depth and emotion to the lyrics. The melancholic tune of the song adds to the nostalgic mood of the lyrics, making it a perfect song to listen to when reminiscing.
