Back in September 2008, October Sky released their first full-length album “Hell Isn’t My Home,” which garnered them instant success. The album features 10 tracks which alternate between melodic rock and ambient alternative. The LP earned them three awards for best provincial rock song, rock CD, and rock music video. Two music videos soon followed, one of which was in rotation on MUCH Loud and in the Top 5 on Musique Plus. During this time, the band also performed live on national TV for CTV’s Telethon of Stars and was interviewed on Musique Plus.
Since this time, October Sky has not looked back. They followed their debut LP release with a national tour which touched down in 15 Canadian cities from Montreal to Vancouver. Their music often brings them on the road and they have also performed alongside such well-established artists and Alexisonfire, Mobile, Bad Religion, and Michel Pagliaro. As national winners of the Global Battle of the Bands, October Sky represented Canada in London, England in April 2010 at The Scala.
October Sky has stretched their musical muscles in Europe with their first foreign tours in France, Belgium and United Kingdom. The media coverage they regularly receive on air and on paper is a testament to their mounting status as serious musicians. Their live performances feature a mesmerizing, harmonic fusion of music, voices, lights, and video effects. October Sky has now over 200 live performances to their name and their singles have been in rotation on international radio stations.
They have also released world-wide their latest album "The Apotic Season" on June 18, 2012. Their studio work produces strong, alternative riffs punctuated by soft, captivating vocal melodies. The new tracks promise much for the trio for the years to come.
Since the band’s inception, October Sky have been reaching forward, both musically and professionally. Their singles bring together the best in alternative music, with songs so engaging you would think you had heard them already. One listen, live or on CD, will ensure you that they offer a great deal and promise even more.
The Message

You've got to see the pictures of tomorrow
Let it go
You've got to understand the plan
Just play your role
You've got to be my eyes
You've got to be my eyes
Where we're going, it's nowhere.
I know who cares about it, I... I know
Then you become what you always wanted
Then you become what you should be
The message will follow you everywhere you go
The front page is forever your image
You'll be proud of your story
The message will follow you everywhere you go
The front page is forever your image
You'll be proud of your story
But you'll need to wake
You'll need to wake
You'll need to wake up
Wake up
The song "The Message" by October Sky is a motivational and inspiring piece that speaks of the importance of having a vision for the future and playing one's role in achieving that vision. The opening lines, "You've got to see the pictures of tomorrow, Let it go, You've got to understand the plan, Just play your role," suggest that the singer is urging the listener to focus on the future and let go of any hindrances that prevent them from seeing it clearly. The idea of having a plan is emphasized, as well as the importance of playing one's role in bringing that plan to fruition. The line "You've got to be my eyes, You've got to be my eyes" reinforces the idea that the singer sees himself as the leader of this vision and needs the listener to help him see it through.
However, the song acknowledges the reality that the road to success is not an easy one. The lines "Where we're going, it's nowhere, I know who cares about it, I... I know" highlight the challenges and doubts that come with pursuing a vision. The singer seems to be resigned to the fact that not everyone will share his enthusiasm for the journey and might not be able to see the point of it all. Nevertheless, the song remains optimistic, with the lines "Then you become what you always wanted, Then you become what you should be" suggesting that if one stays true to the vision, they will ultimately achieve their goals.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the idea that the message of the vision will follow the listener wherever they go, and that their actions will be forever immortalized on the front page of their legacy. The sense of pride in one's story and the urgency to wake up and make it happen is palpable in the final lines of the song.
Overall, "The Message" speaks to the importance of having a clear vision for the future, persevering in the face of challenges, and playing one's role in making that vision a reality.
