"We are just a band that writes music which people happen to like", says guitarist Scott Zschomler. Odd Project originally formed in 2000 and has recorded a few demos which caught the eye of many in the record industry resulting in a multi-album deal with Indianola Records. With their new chance to shine, Odd Project jumped into Zing Studio's (Killswitch Engage, From Autumn to Ashes, The Agony Scene) and recorded "The Second Hand Stopped" in just less than 2 weeks. With their new release now out, they toured for over a month and a half and managed to win a spot on the main stage at Hellfest 2004.
The buzz has been selling albums out all over the United States; Odd Project has now made a name for themselves in the music industry. It is no wonder they were voted the "#1 Metal Band" on MP3.com, not by the fans, but by MP3.com themselves. The power of their live performance, the showmanship, and their clear musical talent are some of the reasons Odd Project is able to SELLOUT clubs such as CHAIN REACTION (Anaheim, CA), one of the most competitive and "Industry Exposed" venues in Orange County, and THE GLASSHOUSE (Pomona, CA). Playing with National acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, and Norma Jean, and being in recent magazines such as Alternative Press, Metal Hammer, Revolver, and Amp has given Odd Project the utmost exposure and drive to become the next most talked about band in 2005.
After personal differences with the rest of the band, vocalist Matt Lamb left the band in 2006. His last show with the band was at Chain Reaction on May 25th, 2006. Matt hasn't announced any other plans yet and Odd Project has found a new vocalist, Michael "Jag" Jagmin, and are now in the process of recording their new album "Lovers Fighters Sinners Saints".
After the release of "Lovers Fighters Sinners Saints", Scott Zchlomer and Christian Escobar left the band, leaving no original members of Odd Project remaining. As of now, Odd Project has decided not to change their name, and have chosen to not play any songs before Lovers Fighters Sinners Saints with respect to the original line-up.
Odd Project officially called it quits in late '07, where current vocalist "Jag" moved on to sing for A Skylit Drive. Drummer Christian Escobar currently manages what remains of the band's existence.

as autumn sends its best wishes the search is over and I'm still missing. From up here perfect seems oh so wrong.
This shattered glass lines the cracks in the floor but the bullet missed its mark. The record skipped...and the needle cut your lips. But I'll miss you when you're gone.
Your ink filled eyes, they blink and the tears stain your porcelain cheeks a cinematic smile is kind on the eyes...we rehearse and we rehearse these heartfelt lines(lies)
Your lipstick still haunts me. It's ghost on my collar. Red and white they collide. Bruises fade but your love stains, stains. Stains. Stains me.
Yeah baby its too bright in this ballroom tonight so turn out the lights. I can see the silhouette of hurt in your eyes and the knives in your back. God knows I slipped, saying sorry with these marks on my lips. God knows I slipped. Saying sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
This shattered glass lines the cracks in the floor but the bullet missed its mark. The record skipped...and the needle cut your lips. But I'll miss you when you're gone.
In "The Phone Is Such a Blunt Object," Odd Project creates a poignant and emotional story about heartbreak, forgiveness, and moving on. The lyrics are filled with vivid imagery and symbolism, allowing the listener to visualize the pain both physically and emotionally.
The song begins with the singer using the notes from their significant other and building a paper plane to carry their broken heart and sleeping pills away. They plan to leave the next morning and start over, as "autumn sends its best wishes." However, there is a sense of longing in the singer's voice as they look down and see that "perfect seems oh so wrong."
As the song continues, the singer describes the physical and emotional pain they have endured in the relationship. The shattered glass on the floor signifies the destruction that has occurred, but the bullet missed its mark, leaving the singer the chance to move forward. However, they still feel the pain and will "miss you when you're gone."
The final verse reveals the extent of the betrayal that has occurred in the relationship. The lipstick stain on the singer's collar serves as a reminder of the love that still stains them. The repetition of "I'm sorry" suggests that the singer is seeking forgiveness, but they know that forgiveness may not come easily.
Overall, "The Phone Is Such a Blunt Object" is a powerful song that tackles the complexities of love and heartbreak. The lyrics effectively capture the emotional and physical pain that comes with ending a relationship.
