In 2007 the former members, minus Steven Drake and adding Murray Atkinson (guitar) reformed under the name "The New Odds", whose MySpace page claimed the new group sounds "a little bit like Odds only not quite." The album Cheerleader was issued by the band under this name. By 2009 the band moved back to their original moniker "Odds"

It Falls Apart
Odds Lyrics

Blowing smoke out the ears
As I head for the hole
Without a ten-foot pole
I don't like the feeling of being
Out of control
You knew the reason, but you let it start
And now the end has come
You're feeling really dumb
But you deserve it
You had no choice
[Chorus]
It falls apart
In little pieces on the floor
Too wild to keep together
So you want it more
It falls apart, falls apart, falls apart
You talked a bluestreak, but you never gave
Go ahead, crawl in the cave
And now the end has come
You're feeling really dumb
But you deserve it
You had no choice
[Chorus]
The lyrics of Odds's song "It Falls Apart" seem to be about losing control and facing the consequences of our actions. The first verse describes the feeling of being out of control, with loose tie-rods and blowing smoke adding to the chaotic imagery. The singer seems to be heading towards a hole without a ten-foot pole, which could symbolize a dangerous situation they have no way of avoiding. The chorus, "It falls apart in little pieces on the floor," suggests that the situation has already fallen apart, and there's nothing left to do but watch it crumble.
The second verse addresses someone else, perhaps a person who played a role in the singer's loss of control. The line "You knew the reason, but you let it start" could imply that this person saw the warning signs but didn't act to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the feeling of things falling apart and the desire to hold on despite everything.
Overall, "It Falls Apart" seems to be about the inevitability of some situations falling apart, no matter how hard we try to hold them together. The consequences of our actions catch up with us, and we're left to deal with the fallout.
