Wolken
Oehl Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Auseinander in unserem Haus
The lyrics of Oehl's song "Wolken" are melancholic and emotional, telling a story of longing, searching and ultimately finding oneself lost in time and space. The first stanza speaks of a tower, once so important and prominent, now only a rusty nail in the wall. The singer never noticed the picture it once held, only the dark square where it once hung. Haunted by a sense of loss, the singer searches in every corner and finds nothing but dry bread and water that disappears like a cloud. The clouds themselves have become a fixation, as they block out the sun and hold the singer in a state of suspended animation. When they finally disappear, it is already dark.
The second stanza is a reflection on the singer's own life, which seems to be falling apart. The walls of their house are shifting, and even their feet cannot find stable ground. Everything is in flux, and the singer is lost in the confusion. There is a poignant image of a place where a sofa once stood, now replaced by emptiness and the absence of happiness. The final chorus returns to the fixation on clouds, both gray and white. They are the one constant in a world that seems to be unraveling, and they hold the singer in a state of limbo. In the end, the clouds disappear and the singer becomes nothing but dust, perhaps a metaphor for the cyclical nature of life and the inevitability of change.

By keeping others at a distance you avoid a betrayal of your trust. For while you may not be hurt that way, you mustn't forget that you must endure the loneliness. Men cannot erase this sadness because all men are fundamentally alone.
Kurz etwas Optimistischeres:
Pain is something that men must endure in their heart and since the heart feels pain so easily some believe life is pain. This is wrong.
Danke.
