Emotions are often a weakness. I wish I could be like you so I could use your power to live only with logic and cut out all emotional needs.

Edit: Reply to some of the critics: Emotions are human nature. I won't get too philosophical on some comment section.
If you look into the philosophies such as Stoicism, Machevilian, and cynicism and Immanuel Kant's morality, you will understand that emotions are the biggest hurdle to self-control.
If a loved one of yours dies or a loved one of yours is in pain, we feel pain and may cry. But should we cry? Absolutely no, because if someone dies we can't do anything about it, and should just move on. I agree with you that love is everywhere and that is because we all are filled with love. Even I am human, it's just that I wish I was more Stoic and mentally stronger. I too am aromantic to a great extent but not completely emotionless, and that is because I'm human. But if you look closely, love is just an illusion. An illusion of human nature that we all are stuck with and can almost do nothing about. Logic on the other hand isn't.
I'm not trying to say that we should shatter our emotions and go completely selfish, (That is impossible), and not help each other. But rather, we should keep our LOGIC ABOVE EMOTIONS. And logic is helping society, being moral, and living with self-control.
Going on a toxic relationship and emotionally hurting yourself is not logic, that is your emotions at worst.
And about feeling out of place, well, that happens to me as well because I'm not like the people around me. All we have to do is go search for people similar to us.

Edit 2: I'm not saying emotions are irrelevant. I'm saying they are often a weakness. I do not consider logic and reason to be a social construct. Reason and ethics and knowledge is what allowed men to civilize and progress, while other creatures remained primitive. If your emotions make you want to rob a bank, does not mean you are supposed to go on and follow your emotions. I ask you to go and have a look at the man known as aristo who lived during the time of Stoic Philosopher Zeno. He believed we should abandon reason and always rely on our emotion (something like that) . Contemporary philosophers tried arguing with him that such ideas will lead to chaos and carnage. We can't abandon emotions, we simply can't. Attempting to do so is trying to fly on our own. What we can do is try not to follow it too much. For example, emotions instead reason is what often leads people towards toxic relationships. The result is chaos.

I tried many times cause people around me said “you just haven’t found the right person”
but whenever I tried lovers’ step, I was very uncomfortable with the acts.

At the end, all of them ended because they felt “I wasn’t like a lover” and I couldn’t change that way of acting and feeling. That’s just who I am.

But I can’t give a big talk about this i guess, since I don’t quite understand it myself.
I don’t know how to tell you, I love my family and friends. It’s just that I don’t love anyone in a romantic light.

I stopped trying after many failed attempts.
People feel and see that it’s just not it. I didn’t want it but i made them sad at the end of our relationships. I don’t want that anymore.
And besides the society making me think that I’m lacking, I am happy with the person I am.

For me, this song isn't only about an unrequited love between two people. It's also about people loving you when you can't love yourself. When you're depressed to the point, nothing matters to you anymore. You don't have the energy to love yourself or love the people around you. But they love you anyway.

Insane Jester That's great! Probly, it reminds you of something happy in your life. Diff people will have diff reactions to the same stimulus. The song itself is kinda heartbreaking, but to me it also has to do with the fact that it reminds me of the person who introduced me to this band and the time immediately afterwards, when she and I started drifting apart. If you pay attention to the lyrics, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, even the upbeat, jolly sounding tracks have melancholic lyrics. But maybe you'd rather focus on the happy tunes or like I said, maybe it brings you happy memories. XDD

this song is really personal to me. recently I found out that I'm aromantic, it means that I can't feel romantic attraction towards others and... that's sad. I've always felt out of place because I didn't know what love was like, and even though finding a label made me feel better about myself, sometimes I just get really anxious and sad because I'm scared of the future. I really wish I could love someone, but I know it's pointless because in the end, I would just end up hurting even more people, so I guess I need to face reality. this song comforts me and it's a way I can describe my feelings. thanks omam.

Emotions aren’t weakness. They’re beautiful even the negative ones. They make you feel alive.
And being aromantic doesn’t mean we’re emotionless.
I’m also aromantic, most of the time I’m fine not being in a romantic relationship. I love being alone and being with my loved ones but the society is full of romance.
songs, books, movies, tv series, it’s everywhere.
It’s such a big thing in human heck even animals’ life.
And when I’m alone or even when I’m surrounded with people I love, I feel empty. I feel not enough and out of place.
I would die to feel that kind of emotion. I accepted myself but it still hurts that i will never experience that kind of way towards someone.

this song really hits different to me. i remember listening to this as a kid (yes, i'm a teenager) and relating to it, but i didn't know why quite. after years of self discovery and breaking a few hearts (which i regret, but that was for the better) i've discovered i'm aromantic asexual. sometimes it's hard to come to terms with that, because sometimes all i want is a romantic relationship and to feel those things- but i just don't experience it in the same ways. i also just really wish there was more of a community of aro ppl, but i think some of it is that arophobia and acephobia are definitely still very real. once i told the biggest ally i know- well, i didn't tell them i was, i was just vague about it- that i was aroace, and she basically said that aroace people are confused and haven't met the right people yet. and that really hurt. ive come out so many different times in my journey yet this is the scariest.

please accept everyone in the lgbtqia+ community, not just picking and choosing, bc you're NOT an ally if you pick and choose.

I can relate tbh, I found out that I'm lithromantic and this lead to my long term, long distance relationship to collapse. My partner was devastated and he so badly tried to reconnect with me romantically for a couple of days and I tried to reconsider my decision, but then I found out that he got a date 4 days after our relationship ended. I tried to make it work out after, but in the end, it never did.

This song for me is about loving someone deeply but not in the way thez want to be loved and you can only feel sorry for them because you know you never will reciprocate their feelings.
I related so strongly to this song when I was questioning and later I figured out that I'm aromantic and everything made sense.

For me, this song always reminds me of the end of a relationship, where one person has fallen out of love for one reason or another and is trying to still love the other, but just can't for one reason or another; and the other still loves them and doesn't necessarily realize anything is wrong (or is trying to fix things or in denial if they do).

i've always translated this song as being sung from the perspective of a girl heartbroken over her love for a boy - feeling like she was never able to do it right, the way she feels like her love deserves. she feels unworthy, feels like he is one of the most important people to her, yet, cannot love him because there are so many others out there better for him. i thnk the minotaur is the girl, and the serpent is the boy - and there are plenty more fish in the sea, plenty more others who would better fit the beautiful serpent than a (wonderfully magical) land animal such as herself, and she feels like she is from a completely other world - one in which she will continue travelling throughout on her boat, constantly on the move, never settling for someone who just wants to simply swim along with her on her journey.

This song is hitting me hard, right in the feels. And i'm crying... "cause, ..it's my story. I cant forget, and i cant forgive me.
There was that guy, the sweetest i know, everything was just right with him. And we got together and he loved me more than i would ask. But.. i wasnt able to do the same. I wanted it, i really wanted, for one time, feel that sweet emotion. But nothing came and .. i broke his heart..., twice.
It's just until not long ago that i realised that i wasnt able to fell in love at all and,.... it's a bitter feeling to put a name on it.
Today, i just hope for one only thing : i want him to meet someone, to get the love he deserve, because, there's no one like him and, he need to believe in love again.

Just came up on my playlist. This will always take me back to Fuji Rocks 2013. The most amazing festival I've ever been to, with a really fun group of friends from Hong Kong where we were all living at the time, and of a very special girlfriend, the love of my life.

I didn't really get the meaning of the lyrics that summer, but the following year when we broke up I did, and it's still the #1 song that reminds me of her & in particular of the most amazing weekend.
