Their HARD-HITTING new album was produced by rock icon Brett Hestla (Dark New Day, Creed, Framing Hanley, Faktion) and mixed by veteran music maker Pete Thornton (Paramore, Sullivan, National Product). The band was even able to draw the attention of mega-producer David Bendeth (Paramore, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Breaking Benjamin, The Almost, Dropping Daylight) for their first single โThat Guyโ. Recorded and mixed in the summer of 2007 in Florida and New Jersey, OTAS debut EP, PROLOGUE features the groupโs blend of synth-infused grooves, hard rock, and honest lyrics, resulting in an album that is a mix of high-energy rock and thoughtful ballads. It also marks the bands first official release since signing with ReAmp Entertainment Group.
Since forming, OTAS has toured and captivated audiences all over the southeast. Having had the opportunity to take the stage at a variety of festivals and events such as the Glitz nโ Glamour Tour with Rookie of the Year and Roses are Red, The Florida Music Festival (FMF) with Seven Mary Three and JR from Dishwalla, Rock the Vote, Rock for Hunger 2, Orlandoโs annual Ole' Festival and Bodogโs Battle of the Bands. Catch OTAS live on the road in '08.
QUOTES:
"I wonโt go out on a limb and say that Of Truth And Stories are โthe best band that you havenโt heard of yetโ or any of those other silly catchphrases album reviewers tend to throw around. What I will say is that the prologue EP shows a huge amount of potential for Of Truth And Stories to become that band, and with the release of the bandโs full length album just around the corner, it shouldnโt be long before Of Truth And Stories really have a chance to make their mark." - Jesse Dunn SkylinePress.net - Album Rating (9.5/10)
"The "truth" about this band is that they have a uniquely rich blend of fresh new rock with hints of 80's retro. O.T.A.S. has a mass appealing sound that takes you for a ride you never want to get off. Jump on board now and watch as the "story" unfolds!" - Tattoo Todd 95.7FM Daytona Beach
"Not only were there some big name acts at FMF like the above mentioned, but there were some really hot (both music and looks-wise) local bands as well. Noon Blue was absolutely amazing, as were Cori Yarckin, Of Truth and Stories, Woodale, and many, many more." - Orlando Citybeat
Bodog Battle Heats Up in Orlando
โOrlando's a hot town with a crazy load of talented musicians on tapโฆ However, the hottest band of the evening was Of Truth and Stories , a proficient rock band who featured a solid drummer. Thanks a lot to the fans and the many talented bands for coming out tonight!โ - Bodog Battle
"Want more OTAS? Heck, who doesn't. John [from ReAmp Entertainment Group] hooked me up with an advanced copy of the cd and holy rock-n-roll its AWESOME! Big shots Brett Hestla, Pete Thorton, and David Bendeth produced and mixed it. These guys have worked with heavy hitters such as Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Creed, Dark New Day...I could go on listing their resume but I do have work to do." - Brook-Pifer.com Rockstar Photographer
The Game
Of Truth And Stories Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To be alone not to be with myself
No sound, so you donโt think of me
I write places where I wanna be
My game no rules
My game no rules
Conformism is not for me
Iโm no good if I am not free
Back out if you donโt wanna play
Your game my rules
Your game my rules
My game no rules
My game no rules
In Of Truth And Stories' song "The Game," the lyrics describe a need for solitude in order to write, as the singer desires to be alone but not with themselves. They write about places they'd like to be, suggesting a desire for exploration and escapism. They assert that their game has no rules, indicating a rejection of societal norms and conventions. The singer declares themselves as someone who cannot thrive without freedom, implying that they cannot be constrained by society's expectations. The lyrics also challenge stereotypes and call for others to play by their own rules, suggesting a desire for individuality and self-expression.
Overall, the song appears to be a rebellious anthem encouraging people to live life on their own terms and resist societal pressures to conform. The lyrics touch on themes of individuality, freedom, and breaking away from conformity.

I donโt even watch the intro before I hit like.
Itโs INSTANT.
The Lush Family provides a comfy spot on the YouTube.
I always feel relieved/ validated or just SANE watching them. Itโs a channel that feels like Iโm hanging out with friends :)
I have friends, in real life, and being middle aged we are all kind of like the Lushes. We canโt get together a lot, kids, jobs etc, and Iโll happily enjoy a parasocial dynamic in lieu of real time ๐๐ป
So thereโs a familiar vibe along with a more serious side to Leon, I really appreciate how heโs fair. Heโs thoughtful, and he doesnโt give people shit unless itโs DESERVED.
A lot of what he says is ultimately very very reasonable and Iโm grateful to hear him express some maybe unpopular (?) opinions for the sake of being connected to reality.
Theyโre just decent folks, we enjoy watching couples who are familiar.
And Iโm home, with my partner, but we enjoy watching together because itโs how we do internet viewing, except Iโm more Leon and my partner is more Mrs. Lush (but a man). He has no idea what memes are, he doesnโt have a TikTok, heโs totally unaware but he will humor me and play along on these rabbit hole journeys :)
Thanks to you both for reliably being there. Here. Uploading.

To add a little more context to make the situation even worse, the contestant later came out about it in a blog post and admitted that her father lied on the show to make himself look better. The girl was apparently 14, not 17.

The father's responses definitely came off like he was lying/playing dumb.
