The 1970s school boy musical band from St. Gregory's College, Obalende, Ikoyi, Lagos. Nigeria's most outstanding school boy band of all time! Largely influenced by the guitar solos of Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Francis Rossi, and the criss-cross rhythms of Osibisa. At home they were influenced by the music of ‘BLO’ (Berkley Jones, Laolu Akins and Mike Odumosu), ‘Monomono’ (led by Joni Haastrup), The funkees, and Ofo the Black Company.

Baby now let me hold you tight my love
It's not easy
I want to hold you every day so that I can fall into your love arms
It's not easy
Darling you've made me lose my mind
It's not easy
It's not easy
Let me down now, I want to hold you every day
I will never, never let you go
Every day hey every day I love you so much
It's not easy
Darling you've made me lose my mind
It's not easy
I want to lose my mind every day so that I can fall into your thin arms
It's not easy
Let me down now I want to hold you every day never never let you go
Every day hey every day
It's not easy.
The lyrics to Ofege's song "It's Not Easy" convey a deep sense of love and longing. Throughout the song, the singer expresses their desire to hold their partner tight and to never let them go. The refrain of "It's not easy" serves as a reminder that love is not always simple or straightforward.
The opening lines, "Baby now let me hold you tight my love," set the tone for the rest of the song. The singer is clearly in love and wants physical closeness with their partner. However, they also acknowledge the difficulty of maintaining that closeness on a daily basis. The repetition of "every day" emphasizes the singer's desire for consistency and stability in their relationship.
The line "Darling you've made me lose my mind" adds a sense of urgency to the song. The singer is so consumed by love that they feel they are losing their grip on reality. This sentiment is echoed in the following line, "I want to lose my mind every day so that I can fall into your thin arms." The use of the word "thin" adds a layer of vulnerability to the singer's desire to be held.

Heard this on KCRW last night and it really caught my ear. Odd mix...it sounds like a guitarist is listening to the finished record in his bedroom and casually jamming over it.
