Everywhere I Go
Off Kilter Lyrics

But my reflection was all that I could see
Now I must say that it’s okay
On a corner on the crowded street of dreams
But from the outside it's not always what it seems
But I must say that too was okay
I always tell myself
I wonder why just a little bit
Try just to make this something I can understand
I get by and I live with it
Well in the end the answers greater I know
You're everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
That's my problem
Well I had my reasons to hold on to what I know
Reliving history is all I got to show
Maybe someday I’ll find a new way
Now tell me something tell me what you see
We'll end this superficial life, it’s just what I need
Well I found a new way
Yeah maybe someday
Try just to live with it
I always tell myself
I wonder why just a little bit
Try just to make this something I can understand
If I ever live with it
Well in the end the answers greater I know
You're everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
That's my problem
Yeah that’s my problem
Try just to live with it
I always tell myself
I wonder why just a little bit
Try to make this something I can understand
In the end the answers greater I know
You're everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Yeah everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
Everywhere I go
That's my problem
The lyrics to Off-Kilter’s song, “Everywhere I Go,” describe the feeling of being watched or scrutinized closely, even when alone. The singer feels like they are constantly under observation, as if someone is always looking over their shoulder. However, this feeling is only a reflection of their own insecurities- “But my reflection was all that I could see.” Despite this, the singer acknowledges that it’s okay to feel this way, and that they must learn to live with this constant scrutiny- “Try just to live with it, I always tell myself.”
The second verse describes the singer’s experience on a crowded city street, where things aren’t always what they seem from the outside. The singer mentions that they’re holding on to what they know- “Well I had my reasons to hold on to what I know, reliving history is all I got to show.” However, they hope to find a new way to live their life, and escape the superficial existence they’ve fallen into. The chorus then repeats several times, emphasizing how the feeling of constant observation is the singer’s problem.
Overall, the lyrics to “Everywhere I Go” are about feeling watched or observed, even when alone. The singer acknowledges that these feelings are a result of their own insecurities, but still struggle to live with them. They hope to break free from a superficial existence and find a new way to live their life.
