Thanks to Officina Zoe the Pizzica dance has become popular in all the European capitals since before the "taranta-mania" boom). Its popularity has stretched further beyond Union borders, landing in the States (Los Angeles,1998), in Corea(Tour 2006: Seoul and Nami Island) and even in Japan (Tour 2007: Auditoriun Tokyo, Auditorium Kyoto, Nagoya).
The Tour in Japan has been captured on the live album "Live in Japan" recorded between Tokio and Kioto, consisting of some great lyrics which better reflect the history of the band . The album also contains some of their unpublished lyrics.
Among Officina achievements Officina there are several artistic and theatrical collaborations with Pamela Villoresi, Teatro Argot, Domenico Carli), cinema (with Edoardo Winspeare, Pippo Mezzapesa) and music.
In the music world they are also notable for their extrardinary experience with Ominostanco (sounds manipulator) Don Moye(well known afro jazz exponent and talented drummer of the ArtEnsemble of Chicago) and Baba Sissoko (a multi-instrumentalist of an international fame as well as a key representative of Mali music)
Over the years, some musicians from Salento have joined Officina Zoe, playing alongside the main and creative members of the band, Lamberto Probo, Donatello Pisanello e Cinzia Marzo. After building up experience within the band, they have then moved on from Officina Zoe taking with them Officina's unique style and developing their own personal style either as soloist or joining/forming new bands.
The records production of Officina Zoe have inspired several other artists who have relaunched classic songs from the traditional music of Salento
Officina Zoe are planning a new work for 2009 based on original lyrics which, as per previous songs, will be a mix of contemporary sounds and traditional style. This is rooted in the soul of the musicians.
This year Officina Zoe will be joined by the violinist Giorgio Doveri, the guitarist Luigi Panico, the percussionist Danilo Andrioli and the vocalist Rachele Andrioli.

Viene,
Esercizi di stile che scorrono nelle vene
E chissà quando guarirà questo cuore anoressico
Condannato per l'eternità a girare in tondo, in tondo, in
Tondo, in tondo
Volare oohoh volare oohoh
Tondo, in tondo
The song Lu Rusciu Te Lu Mare by Officina Zoè is a poetic reflection on the transience of life and the inevitability of death. The singer is tired and sits by the river, praying that the next dead body that passes by won't be his own. He observes the futile attempts at flight by malfunctioning parachutes and red flowers on the ground. Life goes on, death comes, but it is a luxury of death that he does not yet possess.
As the night falls and the journey comes to an end, the singer sings a repetitive melody to console himself and remember the two or three things that make him feel better. He speaks of death as a small death that comes and goes, while exercises in style flow through his veins. He wonders when his anorexic heart will heal, doomed to turn in circles endlessly, seeking answers from the dyslexic wind that brings only clouds without rain.
The singer also observes the useless signs of the cross of those waiting for war to die in peace. It is the consolation of dying together, recycling words, thoughts, his face, and an image of someone in his arms. As he showers, he reflects on the two or three things that really matter, drowning in someone's eyes, stealing their breath. Life goes on, another little death arrives, exercises in style flow through his veins, and he wonders when his anorexic heart will heal. The song ends leaving a strong urge to cry, evoking the sadness, and poetry that courses through this tribute to fleeting life.
