Woman
Olivia Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Do you hear them calling me
My lover, my melancholy
You'll see me, I'll still be me
Down where the sound is beaming
That's where I wanna be
Strumming by the sea
Who knows where I'll go
All I know is
I see the light and I'll drown
When the lead goes on I'll fall to the ground
I hear the drum and I'll move
Down where the music is good
Come and hurt me baby
I need to feel something again
A warm delicious vinyl

It hits you within
When it calls to make a friend

Overall Meaning

Olivia's song "Woman" is a deeply introspective and haunting track. The lyrics seem to refer to a sense of longing and vulnerability, as they explore the complexities of love and human connection. The song begins with the singer describing the various voices and emotions that seem to be calling out to her. Interestingly, she seems to personify these emotions, referring to them as her "lover" and "melancholy."

The singer goes on to describe her desire to be surrounded by music and beauty, strumming her guitar by the sea. She speaks of the unknown and the uncertainty of life, but ultimately, she seems to find solace in music, as she rejects the idea of drowning in favor of seeing the light. The drum beats seem to move her, as she is drawn to the place where the music is good.

The final line, "come and hurt me baby, I need to feel something again," adds an interesting layer to the song. It suggests that the singer has experienced some sort of emotional pain or trauma, and that this pain has somehow numbed her or disconnected her from her emotions. In seeking out music, she is attempting to reconnect with her feelings and find a way back to herself.

From the musical Allegro -

A fellow needs a girl to sit by his side
At the end of a weary day
To sit by his side and listen to him talk
And agree with the things he'll say

A fellow needs a girl to hold in his arms
When the rest of his world goes wrong
To hold in his arms and know that she believes
That her fellow is wise and strong

When things go right and his job's well done
He wants to share the prize he's won
If no one shares and no one cares
Where's the fun of a job well done
Or a prize you've won?

A fellow needs a home, his own kind of home
But to make this dream come true
A fellow needs a girl, his own kind of girl
My kind of girl is you
A fellow needs a home, his own kind of home
But to make this dream come true
A fellow needs a girl, his own kind of girl
My kind of girl is you

@VlogVibes

Absolutely love this. My next question is, “How does it look, practically applied?” I’ll leave a possible solution:

7-Day Challenge for the Ladies:

1. Soften your overall tone with your man
2. Use please & thank you OFTEN
3. 2x a day for 30 seconds, rub your man’s shoulders and tell him he’s capable & competent

Let us know how this goes!

There ain't nothing worse than getting home after an awful day at work.....to face an awful evening of drama at home.

Men want peace of mind more than they want sex. And this is what she’s talking about, having someone who has your back and helps to promote your peace of mind. When you have that, you become a lot more open to other things in your relationship. No peace of mind, you shut down and throw up all types of walls between you and your Woman. Trust me, I’ve been there and currently I have peace of mind and no drama. At least not at home.😉

Damn! She nailed that. My second wife brought me so much peace until it was actually scary. It took me darn near a year to even get use to that level of peace, and I've never looked back.

@TrueVintageRnBFan

Your first wife gave you PTSD😂. Naw, but I'm happy for you man. At least you got a woman who gets you.
