In 2007, she signed with music publisher pigFACTORY and worked with producer Josh Crocker to polish her songs into her debut album, Eyes Wide Open, which arrived later that year. Her music appeared on TV shows such as The Hills and The Real World, and the video for her song "Indescribable" was featured on the 2009 Grammys. Around that time, Broadfield got a record deal in the States when Vagrant Records signed her; she became the punk-dominated label's first female artist. The imprint reissued a remixed and remastered version of Eyes Wide Open in summer 2009.
It's A Long Way
Olivia Broadfield Lyrics

We're not that strong my lord, you know we ain't that strong
I hear my voice among the others
Through the break of day
Hey brothers
Say brothers
It's a long...way
It's a long...way
It's a long and winding road (it's a long way)
The lyrics to Olivia Broadfield's "It's A Long Way" deal with themes of struggle, perseverance, and the human condition. The song begins with the singer waking up and singing an old Beatles song. This gives the impression that the singer is reflecting on the past, perhaps thinking about a time when things were easier or simpler. However, the next line, "We're not that strong my lord, you know we ain't that strong," suggests that the present is a difficult time and that the singer is feeling overwhelmed by the challenges they face.
The chorus is a call to action, with the singer addressing their "brothers" and urging them to keep going, despite the difficulties. The repetition of the line "It's a long...way" emphasizes the idea that the journey ahead will be difficult and challenging. However, the use of the Beatles' "long and winding road" metaphor suggests that the journey will also be filled with unexpected twists and turns, and that there may be moments of beauty and joy along the way.
Overall, the lyrics to "It's A Long Way" convey a sense of hope and determination, even in the face of adversity. The song encourages listeners to keep moving forward, no matter how difficult the path may be.

Entregue seu caminho a Deus
Esta ferido?
Chorou muito ?
Eu também... escutava essa música repleto de problemas
Mas confiei em Deus
E ele me tirou do lodo... da areia...
E colocou meus pés na rocha
E hoje...
Hoje eu recomecei minha vida
Confie ... em Deus
Mas também na sua força
