Christmas
Olivia Holt Lyrics

(Christmas) I'm watching it fall
(Christmas) Lots of people around
(Christmas) Baby, please come home
(Christmas) The church bells in town
(Christmas) All ringing in song
(Christmas) Baby, please come home
They're singing Deck The Halls
But it's not like Christmas at all
'Cause I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year
(Christmas) Pretty lights on the tree
(Christmas) I'm watching them shine
(Christmas) You should be here with me
(Christmas) Baby, please come home, ey
(Baby, please come home)
(Baby, please come home)
They're singing Deck The Halls
But it's not like Christmas at all
'Cause I remember when you were here
And all the fun we had last year
(Christmas) If there was a way
(Christmas) I'd hold back this tear
(Christmas) But it's Christmas day
(Christmas) Baby, please come home
(Christmas) Oh, please come home
(Christmas) Oh, I need you to come home
(Christmas) Come home, come home, come home
Olivia Holt's song "Christmas" is a nostalgic Christmas song that expresses feelings of longing and sadness. The song starts with the singer observing the snowfall and people's joyous behavior around her during Christmas time but feeling incomplete without her loved one. She pleads to her lover to come back to her for the holidays as she reminisces about past Christmases spent together. The singer's emotions are heightened by the church bells in town, the pretty lights on the tree, and the singing of "Deck the Halls." She expresses that everything feels incomplete without her loved one's presence.
The lyrics "They're singing Deck The Halls, but it's not like Christmas at all" resonates with the singer's hopelessness without her loved one. The last part of the song has melancholic tones. The singer is fighting back her tears, expressing her wish for the loved one's return but acknowledging that tears are inevitable. The repetition of "Baby, please come home" underscores the singer's desperate plea.
