Olivia Longott Lyrics

I feel so lost
This emptiness deep inside meTesti Canzoni
u might as well just stay with her
Did you lay with her?
'Cause whereever you were
You sure ain't thinking 'bout me
I've been spining around
And so far you helped me babe oooh
You've been messin' around
And lettin' me down
Simple lies and alibies
If you walk out the door you should..
[Chorus:]
[Chorus1: Olivia]
Just look around
And see that she ain't me
And she'll never be
[Chorus2: Jimmy]
Take a look around
And know that you're lettin' go
The best love you'll ever know
[Verse2: Jimmy]
It's just those simple things
Like Jealosy, houndin' me
Accusing me of things
I never did yea
And Thursday you're so in love
Then Friday comes you flip again
Tell me does the drama ever end?
I've been spinnin' around
Thinking about our love
And so far it's crazy
And you keep on talking about
I'm messing around
I cheated you, mistreated you
There's nothing in the world for you I won't do
[Chorus2: Jimmy]
Take a look around
And know that you're lettin' go
The best love you'll ever know
[Chorus1: Olivia]
Just look around
And see that she ain't me
And she'll never be
[Verse3: Olivia]
Look around
[Jimmy:]
Look around and realize
That being good to you
You can't believe every little thing
That your friends be tellin' you
your friends be tellin' you
[Olivia:]
Looked around and what I find
You ain't here with me see
You lied before and you lied some more
It's clear to see
[Both] Just look around yea
[Chorus1: Olivia]
Just look around
And see that she ain't me
And she'll never be
[Chorus2: Jimmy]
Take a look around
And know that you're lettin' go
The best love you'll ever know
[Over chorus]
[Olivia]
Look around and think about it
That girl ain't me
You're trying my patience baby
This is your last chance
[Jimmy:]
Look around and think about
The things that you said
'Cause I don't deserve
To be talked to this way
[Olivia:]
Look around and think about it
That girl ain't me I won't be yours
If you keep mistreatin' me oh yea
[Jimmy:]
Look around and think about it
Get it out of your mind
If I waned her, why am I by your side?
The song “Look Around” by Olivia Longott is a powerful piece about love and heartbreak. The song is a duet between Longott and the American rapper, Jim Jones. The opening lines of the first verse show that Olivia feels lost and that there is an emptiness inside her that she cannot ignore. The lyrics go on to plead with her unidentified partner to take a look around and see that the woman he is with is not her and never will be.
The next verse sung by Jimmy is a response to Olivia's plea where he tells her about the accusations she hounds him with, the jealously on her part, and the drama that ensues. The chorus repeats, and the song ends with a request to look around and think about it with each artist singing a line. The repetitive nature of the song's chorus and verse structure emphasizes the main message of the song, which is to let go of a love that has already gone wrong.
The song's theme looks at the dynamics of a love triangle, where one party is unable to let go, and the other has already moved on. It is a common theme that many will have experienced in their daily lives, and thus it is relatable. Overall, “Look Around” is a powerful song that highlights the pain and frustration that comes with heartbreak and one partner's unavailability in a relationship.
