That wasn’t the point of the series, they’re paying homage to the original and bringing in a new generation into the legacy. It’s not a remake, it’s a spinoff and a really good one too.

Right tho! Obviously nothing can beat the original but let me tell ya when I say this show really exceeded my expectations. It REALLY exceeded my expectations. It was was amazing. Honestly this series probably has some of the best Disney songs I’ve ever heard. Like this show really had no business being as good as it was.

@pstmob !? Auditions were held for hsm 4 a few years back (Dara auditioned for that first). Apparently it was supposed to be about the casts' children going to school at east high. So like Zach and Vanessa's child for example. The idea was thrown away obviously, and a little after, Tim came up with a much better idea, hsmtmts

Okay I get it.. nothing beats the original but they did a WONDERFUL JOB! I am enjoying this series and I think it's cool they wanted to put this together for the younger generation especially and to keep the high school musical legacy. I'll definitely watch season 2.

What I also loved about this was how Nini took Gina's hand even if she just saw the Dean leaving. Its a subtle emphasis on how friendships and the whole experience matters more to her at this point ❤️🙏

Can we all just appreciate e.j for a minute. He started out a bit rusting but he turned into such a good person. He gave up nini in the play so she could be happy with Ricky. When Ricky ran off stage after his moms boyfriend walked in , ej looked genuinely concerned and worried for him. He also has great talent and I’m obsessed with his voice

I really love this series though I wish they also did the second and third one. Currently am rewatching the original ones and I would also like to have seen how they will make their own version. We got a few of their songs like Sharpay’s Fabulous song which is so funny and the What Time Is It song which is so iconic, but I would like to see their version of

I doesn't try to beat o be the original it's its own thing .... It's a group of high school theatre kids staging a production of HSM. with all the drama that carries. It was an hilarious and very consistent season of television..YOU MUST WATCH IT.

The cast did really good singing this song!!! It may sound different from the original, however, that is most likely due to the original cast being made up of young adults and adults whose singing was prerecorded then heavily autotuned and edited back into the scenes which they filmed separately; while the series has a cast of teens and a couple of young adults who are sing live while being filmed! If you look up the original cast singing live they sound totally different and if you look up the series cast singing live it sounds almost identical!!
