2. Omar Akram is the son of a United Nations diplomat, Omar Akram spent many of his early years traveling the world, soaking up the musical traditions of such exotic locales as Afghanistan, Cuba, France, and the Czech Republic.

In his late teens, he discovered the boundary-pushing sounds of Jean Michel Jarre (France), Kitaro (Japan), and Vangelis (Greece), and began to absorb their independent musical influences. Mister Dardy (COLLEGE), Omar
Viele gelbe Scheine, Leben schmeckt
Gestern noch in Einzelhaft gesteckt
Heute schickt mich Vater Staat hier weg (Hot)
Fourty-one Day-Date, Paranoia, Jay-Jay
Abschiebung wegen Narc, Narc, Narc-Narc
Ich baller' dir Patronen aufn Takt, Takt, Takt-Takt
Mein Bruder muss rein wegen Völkermord
Handschellen sitzen fest, Stuttgart Airport
Wechsel' die SIM, wurd' grad verfolgt
Kille meinen Feind, denn seine Aussage wertvoll
Mein Block voller Streifenwagen

In the song "HOT" by Omar, the lyrics portray a narrative of life in a neighborhood characterized by illegal activities, particularly drug dealing. The song explores the dangers, risks, and challenges faced by individuals involved in this lifestyle.
The first verse begins with the artist reminiscing about his early days in the neighborhood, when he and his friends were young and naive, referred to as "Bambini." He claims to have a keen eye for recognizing undercover police officers, symbolically represented as "Zivi," and boasts about his high-quality drugs, describing them to taste like kiwi. He further emphasizes the ease of doing business with him, as he accepts payments through Klarna, a popular online payment service, suggesting a level of convenience in his illicit transactions. Omar proudly states that he is the reason why his neighborhood is deemed "hot," indicating its popularity and reputation in the drug trade. He claims to have regular customers and a strong work ethic, suggesting his commitment to his illegal activities.
The second verse delves deeper into the realities of the neighborhood. Omar mentions the constant suspicion and surveillance by the police, represented by wiretapped phone calls ("Bulle hört uns ab"). He alludes to the difficulty in obtaining drugs in the area, as the demand surpasses supply ("Bald wird es hier knapp in der Gegend"). Despite the challenges, Omar and his associates continue to thrive, boasting about their ability to make the neighborhood "shake" with their drug deals. This verse reinforces the notion of survival and adaptability within a high-stakes environment.
The third verse portrays a more violent and dangerous aspect of Omar's life. He describes his readiness to engage in armed robbery, aggressiveness evident in lines such as "Ich hol' sie raus und zöger' nicht" (I take them out and don't hesitate). He expresses a commitment to protect his loved ones, even if it means taking the lives of others, and alludes to his possession of firearms. The references to different countries imply the international nature of the drug trade and the availability of automatic weapons. Omar suggests that he is a force to be reckoned with, using his power to eliminate opposition and maintain control. He acknowledges the consequences he may face, such as deportation and imprisonment, but is unyielding in his pursuit of power and dominance.
In the chorus, the repetition of "Brüder gehen in' Knast, in der Regel wegen Schnapp" (Brothers go to prison, usually because of drugs) highlights the recurring theme of incarceration within this criminal world. The reference to wiretapped phone lines being heard cracking further emphasizes the constant surveillance and inherent dangers faced by individuals involved in drug dealing. The chorus concludes with the vibration caused by the drug trade, metaphorically bringing the neighborhood to life with its illicit activities.
Overall, the lyrics of "HOT" offer an introspective and somewhat introspective glimpse into the life of someone involved in a neighborhood shaped by drugs and violence. The song conjures a sense of danger, power, and the constant pursuit of survival within this illicit underworld.
