Little Boy
Omar Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Yo quisiera poner a tu pies
Rom pom pom pom, rom pom pom pom

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Omar's song "Little Boy" are a beautiful representation of the story of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. The song starts by alluding to the path that leads to Bethlehem, which is covered in snow. The shepherd boys eagerly want to see their King and bring him gifts in their humble bags. They are offering these gifts to the Redeemer.

In the second verse, the singer expresses his desire to give something to the Lord that he would appreciate. However, he acknowledges his own poverty and lack of possessions, admitting that all he has is an old drum. Despite this, he pledges to play the drum in honor of the Lord in front of the manger. Through the repetitive rhythm of the drum, represented by the phrase "rom pom pom pom," he creates a heartfelt tribute to the Redemptor, showing his devotion and love.

Overall, these lyrics highlight the simplicity and sincerity of the shepherds' offerings to Jesus. It also conveys the message that material possessions are insignificant compared to the genuine love and devotion one can offer.
