1. Omar is a UK soul artist of Chinese, African and Indo-Jamaican descent. Born Omar Lye-Fook (1969) in Canterbury England, Omar has been making albums since the early 1990s and his work is often compared to Stevie Wonder’s work of the 1970s. After the lukewarm US sales for the LP “For Pleasure,” subsequent Omar releases were only available as pricey imports. Now Omar releases his own recordings, tours the UK often, occasionally making brief tours in the US. He is often highly regarded by his US contemporaries such as Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Common, and Stevie Wonder.

2. Omar Akram is the son of a United Nations diplomat, Omar Akram spent many of his early years traveling the world, soaking up the musical traditions of such exotic locales as Afghanistan, Cuba, France, and the Czech Republic.
By the age of 14, he was considered a piano prodigy. In his late teens, he discovered the boundary-pushing sounds of Jean Michel Jarre (France), Kitaro (Japan), and Vangelis (Greece), and began to absorb their independent musical influences. At the same time, Omar Akram remained intrigued by such classical composers as Bach and Mozart, and used much of their thematic coherence, comprehensible structure, and clear rhythmic control to craft his own original compositions.
3. Omar is a two-piece punk band rooted in Philadelphia, PA. They released a CD titled "I'm Not Mad, I'm Just Mad That You're Mad" in April 2010.

Simplify
Omar Lyrics

I wanna leave but I can't stay no way
And you would be my forever more
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Now, now, now
Come on, yea, yeah
Just for you it's hard to mention until now
Just go, go
Be where you can go and let the jump in me
I'll be patient
That's a waste in come for love in me
Our best to simplify
It is you after me
Cause you'll have to qualify
Rest assured after me
Now, now, now
Come on, yea, yeah
Said I'll make you see
On me you can rely
Ain't afraid to how you
I provide
I'll be your man, I'll be your savior
Frustrating, it's time now to run in love with me
Our best to simplify
It is you after me
Cause you'll have to qualify
Rest assured after me
No, no, no
The lyrics of "Simplify" by Omar seem to be about a person who is trying to leave a relationship, but is pulled back in by the intensity of the other person's feelings for them. The singer sees something in their partner's eyes that makes it hard for them to leave, even though they know they should. The partner is portrayed as wanting a committed relationship ("you would be my forever more"), while the singer seems hesitant to make that kind of commitment.
The second verse seems to be the partner's response to the singer's hesitancy. They tell the singer to "just go" and be where they can be free, but also express their desire for the singer's love ("let the jump in me"). The singer is patient, but there seems to be a sense of inevitability in their relationship ("That's a waste in come for love in me").
The chorus is a repetition of the phrase "Our best to simplify." The singer seems to be suggesting that the ideal relationship would be simple and easy, but the partner's complex feelings make it difficult. The rest of the chorus seems to be reassuring the partner that they are the right person for them, despite any doubts.
Overall, "Simplify" is a song about the push and pull of a relationship, where one person wants more commitment than the other.

It almost makes me cry that someone as talented as this man isn't rolling in Grammy awards. The music chooses instead these here-today-gone-tomorrow Muppets. It's tragic.

So true. It's a cruel joke. The people who control the music are depraved.
