2. Omnia is an electronic dance music producer, his track Stick in monday was featured in the Trance Mix Mission Podcast.
Man behind it all, is Evgeny Smirnov. Born in 1987, he would grow up with a diverse taste in music, loving and exploring the beauty of different genres. In the 90’s, he turned his passion for EDM into a hobby and started toying around with producing programs. After discovering trance music, Evgeny knew which path to follow and started developing his sound into this direction.
At the end of 2006, when Evgeny was only 20 years old, he concentrated on creating his own, quality tracks and saw big names like Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Above & Beyond play his tracks and remixes on the radio and during gigs. Remixes on ‘Ørjan Nilsen – La Guitarra’ and ‘Armin van Buuren feat. Jacqueline Govaert – Never Say Never’ put Omnia’s name on the map.

Quare id faciam
Fortasse requiris
Nescio sed fieri
Sentio et excrucior
The lyrics “odi et amo, quare id faciam, fortasse requiris, nescio sed fieri, sentio et excrucior” in Omnia’s song Odi et Amo convey a sense of emotional turmoil and complexity in the singer’s feelings towards a loved one. The phrase “odi et amo” translates to “I hate and I love” which represents contradictory emotions, an internal struggle between love and hate. The singer seems to be battling with their feelings towards the person they love and are conflicted about whether to embrace or reject those emotions. The lyrics also suggest that the singer is aware of this contradiction yet is unable to resist the pain and torment of being in love with someone who can also elicit feelings of hate.
The next lyric “quare id faciam” which means “why do I do this” shows that the singer is questioning their own emotions and the reasons behind their reactions. They are attempting to understand why they continue to love someone who also brings them pain. The following line “nescio sed fieri” which translates to “I do not know, but it happens” further emphasizes the singer’s confusion and inability to comprehend their own emotions. Finally, the line “sentio et excrucior” meaning “I feel it and I am tortured” captures the emotional torment and anguish that the singer feels as a result of their conflicting emotions.
