Malik Exits One Direction (March 2015)
On March 25th, 2015, Zayn Malik announced he was to leave the band. Commenting on his exit from the band, he said "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band".
A Band Break-(up?) from March 2016
On Aug 23, 2015, The Sun newspaper in the UK reported that the band would "take a break" from March 2016, after they finish promoting their fifth studio album Made in the A.M.. A source said, "The guys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boy band. They fully deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. I can't believe our beloved Dmd gc now looks just like any other normal comments section... all those memories deeep down below, our times, the fun we had, the nights we stayed awake, all the chats, all the friends for life we made, all our friends themselves, all of that soo down in the comments where nobody is patient enough to scroll. So many days together. I remember I once, just once, listed 77 names of the friends I'd made here. 77!! And there were more to come! Last anniversary was so emotional, so heartwarming yet so heartbreaking. Because almost 80 members came back that day, and there are almost 20+ comments in just a second. We talked and talked until our fingers hurt from typing sm. But we didn't stop, none of us wanted to let go. Because we knew, that it was all just a day's happiness. Next day onwards it'll be the same, friendless, vacant comments section again. We were all laughing that day, but I knew as the clock ticked by and the day was coming short, our eyes were getting wetter and wetter. What a beautiful day it was, but the most beautiful things also hurt the most. Miss those days sm, wish alllll of us members could come back every once in a while to have a chat or two. ATTENTION CALLING ALL DIRECTIONERS
As you all know, the 11 year anniversary is coming up on the 23rd of next July. But we have some projects we must complete before then. Those targets are as follows;
1) Even though songs like More than this, best song ever, etc, have hundreds of millions of views, it's still not what they deserve. We have decided to stream the song on July 22nd, the day before the 11 year anniversary to get the song to charts. Maybe we have to start streaming a little bit beforehand, but still. We need to stream the song on every possible platform; YouTube, Spotify, iTunes, Amazon music, etc. If this is the same group of people who sold FNB stadium within a minute, then why couldn't we be able to do this?
2) This was planned a year ago, but this time we could easily do this. The second project is to stream drag me down, which as we can see is so close to 1 billion views, but, story of my life isn't, so we will stream story of my life on July 18th (The last Sunday before the anniversary) and make the masterpiece number 1 on that day. I think none of the above are difficult tasks, but that's only if we spread the words. So kindly spread the words.
