One Way & Al Hudson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ready let's get on down
Are you ready to get on down?
Everybody, everybody
Do what you want to do?
(Do it)
Don't think about it
Don't think about it
Tell you what to do, do it
And now if you want to boogie
You go out and do your thing
You get tired of dancin'
Relax and start again

There's nothing I love
More than music (music)
Don't ever take my music away
Cause I need my music
(Get down, get down)

Music funky music
Makes you want to move
(I need my music)
Dancin' the music
Keeps you in the groove
(Keep you in the groove)
Party everybody
Dance the night away
(Party)
To the music funky music
Doin' it night and day

There's nothing I love
More than music (music)
Don't ever take my music away
Cause I need my music
(Get down, get down)

Get on up and dance
Get on up and move
Get on up and shake your
Get on up and groove

Get on up and dance
Get on up and move
Get on up and shake your
Get on up and groove

Get down with it

Get down with it
Do it.

Overall Meaning

The song "Music" by One Way featuring Al Hudson is a classic disco funk anthem and a celebration of the power and joy of music. The lyrics are an invitation to dance and let go of any inhibitions or worries, and to fully embrace the rhythm and groove of the music. The repetition of phrases such as "get on up and dance," "get down with it," and "do it" create a sense of urgency and excitement that reflects the energy of the disco era.

The chorus of the song emphasizes the importance of music in the lives of the singers and listeners. The line "there's nothing I love more than music" is a declaration of devotion to the art form, and the plea "don't ever take my music away" is a reminder of how much music can mean to someone. The repetition of the word "music" throughout the song reinforces its central message: that music is a universal language that can unite people and bring joy and energy to any situation.

Overall, "Music" is a testament to the power of funk and disco music to inspire and uplift people, and to the importance of music in our lives. It is a song that invites us to let go of our worries and dance to the beat of our own hearts.

Most of their good songs aren't on there because they choose to have only one disk instead of two .

MsCharlieBrown78 (Charlie Rae)ย What was your favorite club to go to? Or what was your favorite era to party in? Also check Cassy @ DEMF 28 May 2012 (type it in just like that for the specific video) she's a German DJ, tech house is her style but it's hot.

@MsCharlieBrown78

skfj67 well I was not quite old enough to take advantage of the nightclubs back in the earlyย 80s but I was around, and the music we had at that time was wonderful. Many good memories of school discos, rollerskating and taping off the radio :) The 90s brought more changes in music - lots of pirate radio stations, new nightclubs like Kool Kats, After Dark Clubย and Theย Dance Factory here in Nottingham. As the 90s Swing & RnB developed, I was also jamming down at So'Premes in West Brom. Nothing like today where its all about explicit lyrics, attitude and screw faces.. Back then, it was just good times. Thank you I will look her up :)
