In 1991 Lars began a solo project called "Psychosis" and released a cassette "Death in Utero" in 1992 with Leif as guest musician/lyricist. Leif became an official band member and a second cassette "The Time Spent Dead" was completed in 1993. At about this time, a demo of Psychosis reached Decibel records of Milwaukee, WI. With a call from Decibel, plans for the first cd "Stillbirth" began and was to be released in 1995. Another band named Psychosis necessitated a name change, and the word "Oneiroid" was added. With the release of this album, Oneiroid Psychosis obtained world wide recognition. The following album "Fantasies About Illness" was released in 1997 with a tour of the mid-west and east coast including shows in Madison WI, Milwaukee WI, Columbus OH, Cleveland OH, Pittsburgh PA and New York NY. 1998 brought many changes for Decibel as well as Psychosis Laboratories and prompted a record label change. The third release "Garden of Remembrance" came out in 1999 and was released on Nilaihah records of Columbus, OH. After this release Leif and Lars finished work on the fourth album "Dreams; with pollutions when virile" and Oneiroid Psychosis signed to COP International. A record label based out of Germany and California in the US. COP International gave OP the European distribution and popularity they were looking for. Since "Dreams", COP International has released a reissue of OP's debut "Stillbirth" and their fifth full length release "Forever is Forgotten". Over their history Oneiroid Psychosis has charted all over Europe, Canada, and South America, as well as all over the US. They have also been featured and interviewed in magazines, newspapers, and radio shows from Russia, Europe, Canada, South America and the US.

From my sleep
I feel doom
And that my life
Will end soon
And I ask myself
What have I done
And have I done enough
And hope that this feeling goes away
I pray when I go Ill know
What this is for
I'm not healing
I can't take anymore
I'm pleading to know
Please tell me
Show me what is this for
The lyrics of Oneiroid Psychosis's song "As I Wake" explore themes of existential dread and spiritual questioning. The opening lines set the tone, describing the sensation of waking up with a sense of impending doom and a feeling that one's life is coming to an end. The singer then reflects on their life and wonders if they have done enough, questioning whether they have fulfilled their purpose or lived up to their potential.
The second half of the song features more urgent and desperate pleas for answers, with the singer begging to know the meaning behind their suffering and struggles. The repeated refrain of "I'm not healing, I can't take anymore, I'm pleading to know" conveys a sense of agony and desperation, with the singer searching for any kind of explanation or guidance to help alleviate their pain.
Overall, "As I Wake" is a powerful meditation on the human condition and the search for meaning in a world that can often feel chaotic and uncaring. It speaks to the universal experience of existential angst and the human desire for connection and purpose, making it a poignant and emotionally resonant piece of music.
