The New Zealand rock band have released three albums - 2004's platinum selling 'You Are Here', 2007's multi-platinum selling 'Second Hand Planet', and 2010's 'Until The End Of Time'.
Opshop were winners of the coveted 'Peoples Choice Award' at the 2007 New Zealand Music Awards. Also in 2007 their single “Maybe” achieved the honour of being the biggest song at New Zealand radio ever, holding the #1 most-played spot for 12 consecutive weeks.
Opshop describe their sound like this: "An equal opportunistic grab bag of semi-funkster pop and crackle 'muesli' rock. We like playing music that sounds nice and loud. And dirty and quiet and every nook 'n' cranny in between. If you're not sure what it is. Its likely to be ours".

All eyes
Were upon you
Tonight
And no you don’t know me - at all
But I’m so desperate
To be known
And now, oh it seems all of your lifetimes
Have led you to standing with me
So take my coat
It might be cold outside
It might be cold outside
[Chorus]
Whatever you’ve done
All those things we’ve been through
Let me make it up to you
Don’t be discouraged - we’ve all been victims
Whatever broke you down can be outrun
We can live for these days to come
To come
To come
We can live for these days
All…
I’m all ears
I’ve been listenin’ out for you
For all of these years
And no, I - I - didn’t know what to say
But you’ve got to believe me, believe me
Believe me, I never meant it that way
And all I want to see
Are the lines on your face from years of lookin’ at me
So take my coat
It might be cold outside
It might be cold outside
Whatever you’ve done
All those things we’ve been through
Let me make it up to you
Don’t be discouraged - we’ve all been victims
Whatever broke you down can be outrun
We can live for these days to come
To come
To come
We can live for these days
[Music]
All…
All these fears
We’ve been walkin’ around on eggshells
For all of these years
Whatever you’ve done
All those things we’ve been through
We can live for these days to come
To come
To come
We can live for these days to come
To come
To come
We can live for these days…
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
Live for these days
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
Oh, we can live for these days to come
To come
To come
We can live for these days
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
These days to come
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh)
The song "Days to Come" by Opshop is about a person who is longing to be known and seen by someone they admire. The opening lines "All eyes were upon you tonight" set the tone for this theme. The person singing the song doesn't know the subject of their affection, and yet they are desperate to be known. The lyrics suggest that the person has been admiring the subject from afar for years.
The chorus of the song provides a message of hope and healing. The singer offers to make up for any pain or hurt the subject has experienced, and suggests that whatever has broken them down can be outrun. The song is ultimately about the possibility of a brighter future, represented by the "days to come."
The song's emotional lyrics are complemented by its haunting melody and powerful instrumentation. The song features acoustic guitar, piano, and a driving beat that escalates towards the end of the song. The chorus is particularly memorable, with its soaring vocals and uplifting message.
