1) A Math-Pop Band from Brighton, UK. Members: Sam Rushton - (Guitar) Dan Fane - (Bass/BVs) Will Lee-Lewis - (Drums) Lucy Evers - (Vocals)
2) A metallic hardcore band from London, UK, playing crushing metallic hardcore in the vein of Converge
3) A lo-fi electronic/indie project from Portland, Oregon. From Orchards' website: 'this music will never compare with the lovely, soft patter of falling rain. it can only vaguely suggest the forms of passing emotional states and thoughts, digitally crystalized into nostalgic, upbeat pop collages, dance hymns, and reveries.'
4) From the fertile ground of Nottingham, UK's bountiful music scene grew Orchards. The group yields fruit in the shape of sweet, crunchy melodies married to bitesize narratives for your listening pleasure. Indeed, the french name for Orchards is "pommes pour l'oreille". And their raison d'etre? Simply to sing, plonk, bash, strum and bow through said nutritious nuggets. This humble assembly of musicians currently / have previously graced such fine groups as Saint Joan, Jones of Colorado, Sweetbriar, The Nordic Mile, The Grave Architects and the Sexcapades of Dan Diego. One member also once had the privilege of joining the Chemistry Experiment on stage in Bath. Something lead him to lean over and bite the top of the keyboard player's head. Relations between the two groups remain amicable despite this infringement.

lets take the dark road to the far side of the station
can you stop complaining about your lies yesterday
i don't know where you've been but i can see the tension
are we gonna crumble through the cracks that we share?
Pre-Ch
don't you know, that you're living a lie
make it worth it, can you stay for the night?
all i want is to be perfectly fine
i can feel it the air that you breathe
the silence it haunts me
can't you see that i don't want you to leave? (so)
V2
lets take the long road and forget where were going
living dreams through echos, conversations in my head
i don't know where you've been, always searching through this mess
are we gonna crumble through the cracks that we share?
Pre-Ch
don't you know, that you're living a lie
don't you know, that you're wasting my time
make it worth it, can you stay for the night?
all i want is to be perfectly fine
Instrumental/Middle 8
only you can hurt me
only you can help me
FLY
i can feel it the air that you breathe
the silence it haunts me x2
can't you see that i don't want you to leaveeeeeeeeeee
i can feel it the air that you breathe
the silence it haunts me
can't you see that i don't want you to leave (GO)
The song "Peggy" by Orchards explores the complexities of a troubled relationship. The singer is frustrated with their partner's lies and constant tension, but there is a deep fear of being alone and losing them. The lyrics suggest that they are both struggling to keep their relationship together and are on the verge of crumbling. They both seem to be searching for something that they can't quite grasp.
In the first verse, the singer suggests taking the dark road to the far side of the station, seeking an escape from the reality of their current situation. They are tired of their partner's lies and are questioning whether they will survive the cracks in their relationship. The pre-chorus expresses the singer's frustration as they appear to be wasting their time living a lie, and they hope that their partner can make it worth it by staying for the night. All they want is to feel perfectly fine, but the constant tension and silence continue to haunt them.
The second verse suggests that they have attempted to forget where they were going and instead live in their dreams through echoes and conversations in their head. However, they are still left feeling lost and unable to navigate the mess of their relationship. The middle 8 shifts the focus to the singers' vulnerability and their reliance on their partner. They realize that only their partner can hurt them and help them at the same time. The repetition of "fly" implies that they want to escape and find a way out of this situation. However, they can't escape the feeling of unease in the air and the constant silence that haunts them.
Overall, "Peggy" is a poignant and relatable exploration of a troubled relationship, with Orchards beautifully capturing the raw emotions of the singer.
