I heard this song first in radio Uganda..
Then found mazembe at Namis Club ..nairobi show..they were all dressed in super mazembe t shirts, black trousers and shinny black shoes....
I was thrilled to see them play the dong life...I was in form 1

This was the 1977 album. I still vividly remember when Uganda and Tanzania war had begun and military were dressed in a scary war uniforms with helmets, Jeeps mounted with 106 canon, etc. However, life went on, but then things didn't go well in the following year when Tanzanian and Ugandan decadents were advancing past Ugandan boundary. So, we can see how music of the kind brings history back alive.

The days when music was really music

These were golden days, when music was music. Guitor could be heard. I remember Shida my favourite.

Such a nice composition of Super Mazembe in their formative years back in the 70s as it were. Very nice childhood memories for me growing in dusty villages back. The first time I heard the song I was aboard a train from Kisumu to Nairobi: my very first visit to the city as an 11yr old boy.
