The Aftermath
Origin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Colonized in your cells, sickness, constant shifting
Too late to be afraid, organs, liquefying
Blood spews from every hole, in your, lifeless body
Masses fall from disease, plaguing, every human, still contagious

Hemorrhagic virus which is no longer contained
Rate of death grows faster, no one is immune
Thousands perish daily, dead blood flowing
Panicked sheep all screaming, rampage of fleeing
Fever racks your body, skin is burning
Human beings slowly die
One path to death, this outbreak
Many ways we all can die
Silent killers' drawing flies

Aftermath – final path
Aftermath – final path

Mass extinction calling
Human race is falling
Corpses now dissolving
World is rendered silent
No more plagues of violence
Mother Earth defiant

Now life exists, without humans
New life unfolds, unimpeded
See new days, Earth will flourish
Worlds bane dead, free of cancer
Pollution, will diminish
Our plague ends, we won't return
The sixth wave, of extinction
Self destruct, we killed ourselves
Horizon, sights still unseen

Aftermath
Aftermath of our extinction

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Origin's song The Aftermath describe a world where a deadly virus has ravaged and wiped out the human population, leaving only desolate aftermath in its wake. The disease, which was initially confined to one person or group, has managed to spread, and no one is immune from its deadly effects. The song paints a vivid picture of human suffering through graphic and grotesque imagery. The lyrics convey the message that humans' actions have led to their downfall, and this dystopian world is a result of their inability to contain the spread of the virus. The aftermath of the disease has left only silence and new life forms, unleashing an earth without humans, free from the cancer that is human pollution.

The lyrics suggest that mankind has perished because of their own doing. The consequences of our destructive behavior have resulted in the mass extinction of the human race, and the world goes on without us. The songwriters use potent metaphors and grim visions to paint a grim picture of what our future could be. The lyrics show the ugly side of human nature and the destructive path we are heading towards. The warning in the song lays out the consequences we will face if we continue on this path.

And then realizes that he is only equipped to deal with speed of sound limit breakers, but not speed of light breakers.

3:19 to 3:46 its the coolest moment of the song in my opinion, those bass lines are just sick, watching how Mike Flores sweeps and then does that finger sliding on the fretboard which I can't find a musical word for, its just sick.

ILU

Oh, its was just tapping ._.
