Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Morphine" by Original 3 describe a woman who is obsessively in love with someone who does not reciprocate her feelings. She spends all her time waiting for this person's phone calls and emails, and becomes angry and resentful when they don't respond immediately. She takes pride in being able to understand and manipulate the emotions of others, and she sees herself as the only one who truly loves her object of affection. The song becomes progressively darker as it continues, with the woman's desperation turning into a morbid obsession that drives her to contemplate suicide.

The first verse sets the scene for the rest of the song, with the woman describing how she waits for her love interest to contact her and how she takes pleasure in manipulating other people's emotions. The second verse hints at the woman's jealousy and possessiveness, as she mentions a hairbrush that has both hers and her love interest's hairs on it. The repeated refrain "anata wa watashi no mono yo" ("you belong to me") becomes increasingly ominous as the song goes on, with the woman's grip on reality slipping as she becomes more and more consumed by her obsession.

Overall, "Morphine" is a haunting portrayal of unrequited love and the dangers of a possessive, one-sided relationship.
