LA ECHE EN UN CARRITO
Oro Norteno Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Vengo a decirle
A la que no me supo amar
Que chingue a su madre
Ya la voy a abandonar.

La eche en un carrito
Que la fueran a tirar
Lejos muy lejos
Donde no vaya apestar.

Pero mi orgullo
Es que yo no le se rogar
Que chingue su madre
Ya la voy a abandonar.

La mandé de raite
Pa' que se fuera a fichar
Allá por Tijuana
Por allá se ha de quedar.

Pero mi orgullo
Es que yo no le se rogar
Que chingue su madre
Ya la voy a abandonar.

La aventé en un río
A ver si se podía ahogar
Chingue a su madre
La ruca sabia nadar
Yo ya no la quiero
Ya la voy a abandonar.

Le hice un violín
Un arpa y una guitarra
Para que se fuera
Por la calle a talonear.

Pero mi orgullo
Es que yo no le se rogar

Que chingue su madre
Y que la vuelva a chingar.

Overall Meaning

The song "La Eche en Un Carrito" by Oro Norteño is a traditional Norteño song that tells a story about a man who has been mistreated by his lover. He has decided to abandon her and he is expressing this decision to anyone who will listen. The man is filled with anger and bitterness towards his lover, and he has no intention of ever going back to her.

In the first verse, the man is addressing his lover directly. He tells her that she did not know how to love him and that he is going to abandon her. He then uses vulgar language to express his disdain for her. In the following verses, the man explains the various ways in which he has tried to get rid of his lover. He has thrown her into a river, sent her to Tijuana to work, and even made musical instruments for her so that she could earn a living as a street performer. Despite all of this, the man's pride remains intact because he refuses to beg his lover to come back to him.

The song is a classic example of a Norteño "corrido", a type of ballad that originated in northern Mexico. The song, while seemingly harsh and violent, is a common theme in traditional Norteño music, where men sing about their failed relationships or about love lost. The lyrics often use humor, sarcasm, or vulgar language to convey the emotions of the singer. Despite the violence in some of the lyrics, the songs are generally understood to be humorous and lighthearted.
