La Narváez es una de las orquestas más representativas del sonido salsa newyorkino de los años 70 por su fuerza en los trombones, letras cotidianas del barrio latino y por la voz de su vocalista Armando Vásquez. Es una de tantas orquestas que aprovecharon el boom salsero de Nueva York de los años 70, aunque duró poco, dejo un gran recuerdo entre todos los salseros.
Su único trabajo musical se llama Reincarnation, del sello Tico en 1975, del cual se hicieron famosos los temas Sabiduría, El malo y el mismo Reincarnation que le da título al album. Las otras canciones del disco son: Obra del tiempo, Negrita, La Mafia, El amor de Puerto Rico y un instrumental llamado El clocko (The syncopated Clock).
