Don't see how that could be
Did I just miss something here?
It's the worst I fear, my dear
You're looking, oh, so cute
Did you just buy that suit?
And you just changed your hair
Just remember this
It's just a kiss, nobody has to know
And I won't tell anyone that I know
And I'll be waiting by the phone
All those pictures that you gave me
And all those promises you made me
All mean nothing
Since you decide to grow up on me
Sorry for these impositions
But I don't get your new condition
But I'll follow along
And you can walk me like that dog
And I'll take you where you want to go
And let you play with my radio
But is there nothing more that I can do?
To please you, how 'bout a little clue?
But just you remember this
It's just a kiss, nobody has to know
And I won't tell anyone that I know
That you're just no good alone
All those pictures that you gave me
And all those promises you made me
All mean nothing
Since you decide to grow up on me
Sorry for these impositions
But I don't get your new condition
But I'll follow along
And you can walk me like that dog
Tell me what to do
Tell me what to do
Sorry for these impositions
But I don't get your new condition
But I'll follow along
And you can walk me like that dog
The song "So Ahead Of Me" by Orson speaks of a relationship where one partner seems to have moved on and grown up while the other has been left behind, struggling to catch up. The lyrics convey a sense of frustration and jealousy on the part of the singer, who cannot seem to understand or keep up with the changes in their partner.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the singer expressing their confusion about why their partner seems to be so far ahead of them. They feel like they must have missed something, and they fear that it could be the end of their relationship. The second verse reveals that the singer is jealous of their partner's new look and new clothes, which makes them feel inadequate and insecure. However, they try to tell themselves that it's just a kiss and that nobody has to know about their insecurities.
The chorus expresses the singer's disappointment at the broken promises and unfulfilled expectations in their relationship. They feel like they are being left behind and that their partner has moved on without them. However, they try to convince themselves that they will follow their partner and stay loyal to them, even if it means being led like a dog.
Overall, "So Ahead Of Me" is a powerful and emotional song about the challenges of keeping up with a changing partner and the struggles of jealousy and insecurity in a relationship.
