Rio
Os Cariocas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sorrio pro meu Rio
Que tem no seu mar
Lindas flores que nascem morenas
Em jardins de sol
Rio, serras de veludo
Sorrio pro meu Rio
Que é dourado quase todo dia
E alegre como a luz
Rio é mar, eterno se fazer amar
O meu Rio é lua
Amiga branca e nua
É sol, é sal, é sul
São mãos se descobrindo em todo azul
Por isso é que meu Rio da mulher beleza
Acaba num instante com qualquer tristeza
Meu Rio que não dorme porque não se cansa
Meu Rio que balança
Sou Rio, sorrio
Sou Rio, sorrio
Sou Rio, sorrio
Sou Rio, sorrio
Sou Rio, sorrio

I don't speak the language but still I'm captivated by the music, none the less. Love those harmonies. Wow.

Thank you for admiring our pace, Michael. this has all been lost in Brazil. Our people are alienated, taken by an uncultured, insensitive attempt. Our youth is totally alienated. Left ideologies have made our people lose the beauty of the soul, of poetry, of love. The romanticism is gone ... I'm sorry, I don't speak English, so I'm using Google to express myself. I hope you understand. Thankful.

If you have ever heard the opening to girl most likely 1958, you'll hear that beautiful male cording. Absolutely incredible how many notes fell in songs during the 1950's, even on that uprift in peterpan when they begin to fly and the talented men and women do that build up chord with that "(whaaa!) At the end of almost 7 different harmonized notes.

I don't speak it either but I love it too

sometimes I feel like american jazz is inferior to what brazil created in terms of beauty.

Impressionante a fonética do grupo desde 1942 e, até hoje com Os quatro do Rio. Mantém-se o mesmo padrão vocal e até que os componentes atuais, são os mesmos à época da fundação em 1942.
