Osker broke away from the typical Southern California punk band with the release of their second CD "Idle Will Kill". Previous to this was their first full length album "Treatment 5. Both contained cynical and snotty lyrics about teen angst. As a consequence to their stage antics, among which was Devon's brutal sincerity, criticizing conformity in the punk scene and "fashion", as well as their crowd-taunting habit, Osker were labelled as one of the most hated and mean acts on Epitaph.
"I decided that it is about just doing what you want, while you have gallons of mohawks and leather jackets telling you that they do what they want, I don't believe them... I respect the person that says, 'I don't care for that' because there is no extreme, it's pure sincerity. Punk is doing what you want despite the infiltrators, outside of the skateboards and shoes and hair and patches and the diets and the tattoos. I am Devon and I have 5 close friends, the rest of the world is divided into the helpers and the clueless."
After the split, Williams announced they had been working on a new album (tentatively titled "Thriller"), however it was later said by Benitez to be a joke.
"The split between Dave and I is astounding to me. I always thought we were the next Simon and Garfunkel. I thought we would be our generations Hall and Oates ... Of course, I plan on killing Dave." - Devon Williams
Devon Williams recently played in folk/acoustic band Fingers-Cut, Megamachine! He currently plays music under his own name with the same essence while playing guitar in a folk rock/psychedelic band Lavender Diamond. Drummer Phil Drazik now plays in punk/hardcore band End on End and emo/punk band Life Support.

Osker Lyrics

That people are evil naturally?
All the time we shared,
Like it wasn't there,
That we didn't exist,
Emotions were shit,
I'm pissed that you,
You were so selfish...
And realize I'm just like you.
That's maybe why
I hate myself inside
Because every stupid thing that I do
Reminds me of what,
What I learned from you.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
...And now just to spite you
I destroy the things that you hold dear.
Everything you hate
Makes me feel great
And I feel so good when you draw a tear.
So I'm out of line,
But I tell you I don't care,
And I will find you
And show you how I'm happy you're gone.
When you're feeling down
Don't turn around,
Because I'll hit you
When you are hurt the most
And then we'll see who's the real friend.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
You are not who I thought.
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
In "Two Faced," Osker is expressing disillusionment with a friend who turned out to be "two-faced." The song is an exploration of the disappointment and bitterness that stem from realizing that someone you trusted has been disingenuous all along. The singer grapples with the idea that people may be "evil naturally" and that emotions are "shit," suggesting a general cynicism about human nature. The chorus repeats the idea that this friend is not who the singer thought they were, suggesting that they feel deceived and hurt. The singer wants to hurt their friend in return, saying they will "destroy the things that you hold dear" and that they will hit them "when you are hurt the most." The song ends on this note of anger, wielding the power of pain and cruelty to assert dominance over the friend who betrayed them.

So how was I supposed to know
I was unaware that people are naturally evil
That people are evil naturally?
I've come to realize this unfortunate truth
All the time we shared,
Despite our past shared experiences
Like it wasn't there,
It seems like they meant nothing to you
That we didn't exist,
You have erased our entire history and connection
Emotions were shit,
Our feelings for each other were insignificant
I'm pissed that you,
I am angry at you
You were so selfish...
Your actions indicated your extreme self-centeredness
Take a look at myself
I need to introspect
And realize I'm just like you.
I have become similar to you
That's maybe why
Perhaps this is the reason
I hate myself inside
I despise myself from within
Because every stupid thing that I do
My every foolish action reminds me
Reminds me of what,
Reminds me of the attitudes and habits I learned from you
What I learned from you.
The negative behaviors I acquired from our association
You are not who I thought.
You turned out to be someone different from what I perceived
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
It appears as though you have a deceptive personality like others
...And now just to spite you
At present, I am taking revenge on you
I destroy the things that you hold dear.
I am demolishing things that are meaningful to you
Everything you hate
I particularly target things you dislike
Makes me feel great
It brings me immense satisfaction
And I feel so good when you draw a tear.
Seeing you cry delights me
So I'm out of line,
My actions are inappropriate
But I tell you I don't care,
However, I choose to be indifferent to your feelings
And I will find you
I am determined to locate you
And show you how I'm happy you're gone.
I will express my pleasure in your absence
When you're feeling down
If ever you are feeling low
Don't turn around,
Don't seek solace in me
Because I'll hit you
I will strike you
When you are hurt the most
At your most vulnerable moment
And then we'll see who's the real friend.
Only then will our true bond be tested
You are not who I thought.
My assumption of your true nature was incorrect
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
It seems you have a duplicitous nature similar to others
You are not who I thought.
The person I thought I knew is not you
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
It appears as though your personality is deceitful, like many others
You are not who I thought.
The person I thought of as a friend is not who they seem to be
Looks like you're two-faced like the rest.
It seems like deceit runs deep in you, like it does in many others
