The Oslo Gospel Choir is conducted by Tore Aas, who compose most of the songs. The group's repertoire also includes traditional American gospel songs.
The people singing in the choir comes from various churches in Oslo. Apart from giving performances in Norway we are making a name for ourselves internationally. We have made a fair number of television appearances. The choir's goal is always the same: to preach the Gospel through music. Our style of music could be compared to black American gospel music. According to Tore Aas the music genre "will never be out of fashion. With its impulsive, dynamic and lively style we can easily compare it to classical music's timelessness. This style of music appeals to many people all over the world".

Happy Day
When I see you on the streets
Walkin' on your own sweet way
Something misses half a beat
What it is I could not say
All I know is what I feel
When I see you on the streets
Baby - it's a happy day - yes it is
Maybe it's a summer thing
Watching all the children play
Doing what's the other thing
To anything their mothers say
Ain't no big deal
All I know is what I feel
When I see you on the streets
Baby - it's a happy day
All I know
When I talk to you
Everything is fine - fine - fine - fine
Anyways...
The lyrics to Oslo Gospel Choir's "Oh Happy Day" are a celebration of joy and happiness. The song begins by speaking to the feeling of missing something when the object of the singer's affection is not present. However, the lyrics quickly transition to describing the simple pleasures of watching children play and enjoying the beauty of nature. The singer makes it clear that whatever makes them happy is not a big deal - all that matters is how they feel in the moment. When they see the object of their affection, the day becomes a happy one.
The chorus repeats the sentiment that it's a happy day because of the presence of the person being sung about. The second verse continues the playful imagery of children and nature, emphasizing the freedom and innocence of youth. The singer reiterates that everything is fine when they talk to the person they care about. The song's joyful tone is enhanced by the gospel choir's harmonies and upbeat tempo.
Overall, "Oh Happy Day" is a song about finding happiness in the simple things and in the presence of those we care about. The lyrics encourage the listener to embrace moments of joy and appreciate the beauty of the world around them.
