let me in
Osmonds Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wrote my whole life down in an old book,
Songs about you and me.
Been singing to every soul in Tennessee.
Nobody seems to listen,
No one ever smiles the way that you do.
So I guess you never hear me on the radio,
And I'd give up this crazy dream of mine to hold you once more.
Won't you meet me in Montana.
I want to see the mountains in your eyes.
Woah, woah, I had all of this life I can handle.
Meet me underneath that big Montana sky.

I left home for Hollywood.
Lookin' for a part to play.
Well you always said I had such a pretty face.
But, I guess I'm not that pretty,
'Cause no one looks at me the way you do.
Well you'll always be a movie star to me.
Darlin' now I guess it's time that I let go of that dream.

Won't you meet me in Montana
I want to see the mountains your eyes.
Woah, Woah I had all of this life I can handle
Meet me underneath that big Montana sky.

Well were stuck here in these hills that they call mountains.
Darlin' back home in your arms is right where I want to be.
Won't you meet me in Montana
I want to see the mountains your eyes.
Woah, Woah I had all of this life I can handle
Meet me underneath that big Montana sky.

In Montana.
I want to see the mountains in your eyes.

Woah, woah, I had all of this life that I can handle.
Meet me underneath that big Montana sky.

Overall Meaning

The song "Let Me In" by The Osmonds is a heartfelt ballad about longing and unrequited love. The lyrics describe the singer's life as a struggling musician, writing songs about the person they love but not finding success in getting their music heard. The singer sings about their desire to be with this person, asking them to meet in Montana where they can see the mountains in their eyes and be reunited.

The first verse sets the scene, with the singer explaining that they have been writing about this person their whole life but no one ever seems to listen. They express a desire to give up their music dreams just to hold the person they love. The second verse reveals that the singer left home for Hollywood to pursue a career in acting but wasn't successful. They reflect on the fact that this person always believed in them and still sees them as a movie star. The chorus repeats the request to meet in Montana and see the mountains in their eyes, with the bridge expressing a desire to be back in the person's arms.

The overall message of the song is one of longing and a desire to be with someone who seems out of reach. The use of Montana as a setting adds to the romantic and dreamy tone of the lyrics, with the mountains in the person's eyes symbolizing their beauty and majesty. The Osmonds' harmonizing vocals add to the emotional impact of the song, making it a classic love ballad.

welcome to the wonderful world of the osmonds.
this is one of their best, imo, but they have a lot of terrific songs. check out 'let me in' for another favourite of mine.

i've loved them since the early seventies, and loved them during their {too long} period of not being cool. now as a middle aged man it's ok to admit i love them still, even if it is or isn't cool. i don't even know if they've moved into being cool. at my age, it doesn't matter anymore.

at this stage of my game it's all about love and joy, and making the most of what this beautiful life has to offer. and this family have been the epitome of that. in their industry which is filled with utter garbage and over sexed everything, they've always shared their light of love and purity.

they sound beautiful. harmonies to bring this world joy.
how much better a legacy could anyone leave?

love and peace to you and all,
xxxxxxx

@frankpaul3479

we have been truly blessed for having this amazing family sing for us.

such a clean, good, wholesome family, in a world that so needs that. and such a pleasant departure for that industry.

what a joy they've brought to us.
how much greater a legacy could one have?

love and peace to you and all,
xxxxxxx
