In July 2017, Our Mirage released their first official single, "Revivor," which quickly gained popularity alongside their song "Nightfall." During 2017, the band performed a series of concerts in Germany and embarked on their first small European tour in November of the same year.
Our Mirage's music is characterized by hard-hitting lyrics that touch on themes such as depression, anxiety, and bullying. Their style combines elements of melodic hardcore and post-hardcore, with influences from alternative rock. The band's songs often explore personal experiences and emotions, and their sound is described as mellow yet impactful, with clear vocals and punchy instrumentals.
The band signed with the German label Arising Empire in July 2018 where they released their debut album, "Lifeline", on August 24, 2018. Prior to the release of the album , the band opened the Elbriot festival in Hamburg on August 18, 2018, sharing the stage with bands like Killswitch Engage, Beartooth, and Arch Enemy. In December of that year, Our Mirage accompanied Breathe Atlantis and Imminence on their European tour.
In 2019, the band opened for Callejon on their Hartgeld im Club pt.II tour. They embarked on their first headlining tour in March 2019, with Die Heart and The Disaster Area as supporting acts. In February 2020, the band released their album "Unseen Relations" after a break from playing for almost two years. They returned with three singles during this time: "Transparent," "Remedy," and "Calling You." In early 2022, the band resumed their Unseen Relations Release tour, performing at numerous concerts and festivals. They made appearances at festivals such as Vainstream, Fallen Fortress, and Traffic Jam.

I feel so numb, maybe I'm dead
There is a hole inside my soul that
Makes it easier for me to lose control
But at the same time something makes me whole
I'm alive as I open up my eyes
I feel the storm but the wolves are at my door
So the rivers forming from the storm will bring
Will bring me home again
Will bring me home again
Will bring me home again
How am I supposed to know
That I'm here to learn and I need to grow?
There is a hole inside my soul that
Makes it easier for me to lose control
But at the same time something makes me whole
I'm alive as I open up my eyes
I feel the storm but the wolves are at my door
And the rain says that my life is not in vain
So the rivers forming from the storm will bring
Will bring me home again
The water's without any motion
And I'm scared of breaking open
But my hope is now inside
There is no doubt that I am alive
I'm alive as I open up my eyes
I feel the storm but the wolves are at my door
And the rain says that my life is not in vain
So the rivers forming from the storm will bring
Will bring me home again
Will bring me home again
Will bring me home again
The lyrics to Our Mirage's song "Rivers" explore the idea of personal growth and finding oneself through difficult times. The singer seems to be struggling with their emotions, feeling a sense of numbness or disconnection from their own feelings. There is a "hole inside [their] soul" that makes it easier for them to lose control, but at the same time, "something makes them whole." This suggests an internal conflict - on the one hand, the singer is struggling with their emotions and feels out of control, but on the other hand, they are seeking something that will make them feel complete.
The chorus of the song serves as a sort of anthem of hope: the singer acknowledges the metaphorical storm that they are going through, but they also recognize that their life is meaningful and that they will find their way through this difficult time. The imagery of the rivers forming from the storm suggests that even though the singer is going through a difficult time, they will eventually find their way back home - home being a metaphor for a sense of belonging or purpose.
The final verse of the song reinforces this idea of hope and growth. The singer acknowledges that they are afraid of opening themselves up emotionally, but they also recognize that their hope is still intact. They know that they are alive and that there is no doubt about that. The chorus repeats, emphasizing the idea that even in difficult times, it is possible to find a sense of home.
Overall, the lyrics to "Rivers" suggest that it is possible to find meaning in difficult times, and that even when we feel lost or disconnected, there is always hope for finding our way back home.
