Perfect. Short and to the point and very clear explanation. Are the parts easy to identify and get from the hardware store like Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace Hardware as well as the tool?

@MusicAndWood

Thanks! Yes, you should be able to pick up the tools required and parts from any of those stores.

Very helpful! Will start checking the faucets today. Much appreciated.

Very good vid. I am having the problem of hot coming out of the cold now. Thank you. Now I know what to do.

Thank you for the video. I’m experiencing this situation in my home right now. Is there cartridges, say in a bathroom or kitchen faucet? I turned on the faucet in my stationery tub after not having used it in months and months, so I’m guessing that’s my problem area. Do I just buy a new faucet or is there a cartridge that I need to replace. I’m a female senior citizen so if you can talk to me like a 5th grader, that would be much appreciated. :)

@MusicAndWood

Hello, you are welcome and thanks for watching! I am not a professional plumber, I just wanted to share an experience and solution that worked for me. Any faucet that has one knob to mix the hot and cold water could be suspect. There are quite a few different faucets and cartridges for them so I can’t really help too much over what I shared in the video. I suggest calling a plumber to check out the situation and mention you think it may be related to a cartridge failure. Likely you would not need to replace the whole faucet, only the cartridge. The prices can vary on cartridges but should be in the range of $30-$80 and it should only take 15-30 min for a professional to complete the work. Good luck and I hope the issue is easily resolved!

GREAT Video.. Quick Question... I've experienced this and a couple days later we heard rushing water and 3 plumbers determined we had a leak somewhere and wanted to start cutting drywall and ripping up concrete.... $$$$$ WITHOUT doing any diagnostics to pinpoint a leak. MY QUESTION IS:
could this reverse back flow be causing water to somehow drain back into the system and somehow into the main Exit pipe?
I just find it unreal to accept that they coincidentally happened within 24 hours of each other.
I know you're not a licensed plumber but you seem like a smart guy
Taking a shot here...
Thanks!
Doc

@MusicAndWood

Thanks for the watch and comment! Sorry to hear you are having plumbing issues! As far as I am aware the drain line is generally not connected directly to the water line. Rushing water in the walls does sound not good. Hope you can get it figured out!

@lindamarziotto2071

Thank you! Although, I have a different type of faucet handle that I don't know how to screw off. I think it's a Kohler. I am going to try to see how else I can take it off.

@xuanhan7495

I am facing this issue- we are renovating the bathrooms, the constructors put new valve for the two bathrooms and the day after that we noticed kitchen cold tab is having warm/hot water. The constructors stated that he didn’t touch kitchen so it’s not his issue; but this only happened after he put on new valves for the new bathrooms, not they are still at demo stage, I don’t know how to find which valve is causing the issue
