Overall Meaning

In Oval Opus's song "Say Anything," the singer tells a story of a woman who has been left by her lover. She is in tears and hears words she never thought she would hear. Her friends reassure her that it's okay and that they never liked him anyway, but the singer thinks she needs someone else and time to make a new life for herself.
